How are the two in any way comparable? If a team gets relegated, their local fanbase can still go and see them every week. If a franchise moves, their former local fanbase either have to find a new team nearby to support, or suddenly find themselves having to travel thousands of kilometers to keep supporting that team.

We also don't murder people over games of soccer. It's called being civilized and realizing that its just a meaningless game that is a mindless distraction at the end of the day.
