Syria is -this- close to qualifying to the world cup?
Thoughts?
For me, as a syrian, I got so hyped I couldn't sleep.

Rare
>as a syrian
Double rare
>>74839096
>country is in ruins, pls take refugees
>thriving international sports industry
Hmmmm
>>74839160
The national team's matches are being played in Malaysia. The players in the domestic league barely receive over 200$ per month, and we're talking about the elite of the league here.
>>74839183
$200 is a king's ransom in shitholes like that.
>>74839231
Nope. Barely anything. That's 42870 syrian liras. Add rent, food, water, generators (since living off the government's electricity is horrible), that's barely anything. Also, syria is anything but a shithole, i'm more than happy to say. What's put on the news is blown WAY out of proportion.
that's cool
gonna go ahead and say the obvious:
no one should ever take syrian men in military age as refugees
the only solution to the war is winning it, the mass emigration made it impossible.
>>74839315
Well, the syrian army's making some good advancements, so that's a step forward, I guess :D
Sidenote, some of those military age refugees lost their fathers, so they're left to take care of their mothers, sisters, brothers, etc..
Really impressive. It's difficult to see you beat South Korea though. Also: Very good job by Assad. He stayed in power despite all the opportunistic lying politicians in Europe and the Americas trying to topple him.
Decent article here about football in Syria and their world cup run

Wow, can't believe I never had a SA flag before.
Have a rare in exchange, friend. Right next door.

>What's put on the news is blown WAY out of proportion.
So it's not a war zone then?
>>74839096
>Syrian "Fan"
>Not even in Syria
Why don't you support your own country
>>74839272
So you're telling me you're just on a nice vacation in Saudi Arabia?
BTW if it's been over two years and whenever you ask when the vacation's gonna be over your mom cries, you're not going back

Those Uzbek shirts are pretty bitchin'.
>Syrian
>Lives in Saudi
Are you, dare I say it, a disgusting traitor?
>>74839641
>>74840246
Well, i'm too young for the military, and schools in the area I live in are off, as all teachers became refugees xd
>>74839638
Never said that, it's definitely bad. But it certainly isn't as bad as it's blown out to be. Atleast from what i'm told and what I saw.
>>74840246
>Syrian refugee who doesn't come to Europe
>And you criticize him
So are you visiting London today Chancellor Merkel?
>>74840326
Not exactly a refugee, i've considered a legal citizen here since I was 13. I was supposed to finish high school in syria, but y'know, shit happened. So i'm finishing high school here.
>>74840361
>Still in high school
>"Since I was 13"
>Syrian Civil War 2011-Present
You can put a Saudi Passport in your hand, but you're still a refugee.
>tfw there was an annoying kid when i was in middle school who always bragged about how beautiful syria is
>now it's a war zone
Feel kinda bad now. He was just proud of his homeland and now it's ruined.
>>74839096
didn't know that. let's hope they make it. based syrianbros need a break
>>74840462
They don't give out saudi passports here. Not to syrians. I lived here for a while, but didn't get an "iqama" (kinda similar to ID i guess not exactly sure.) till I was 13.
>>74840627
It really is beautiful. It's the constant representation of it as this desert with mud huts that made him seem like a douche.
>I support the 'moderate' rebels
>They're not Al Qaeda, they're revolutionaries
But in all seriousness, I hope based Syria gets to the WC.
>Dat Russia-Syria broship
>>74840776
>"So what do you think of Russia?"
>"They killed most of my family bombing my city"
>>74840811

>proddies v Orthodox v Shi'ites v Sunnis
>>74841016
Meh, it's certainly not THAT bad.
It's nice, in riyadh, cause the people are usually accepting. There's a huge christian community, and they're a nice bunch of people. Saudis arent as bad as they seem, aswell. They're really nice and hospitable, if you actually meet the middle-high to high class. The lower classes are known to be dicks. Nice buildings all around, and schools are pretty gr8 aswell. Most of the people you interact with in anything that doesn't involve starting a bussiness or stock market are actually from the Levant. From doctors, all the way to teachers, all the way to taxi drivers. Women can't drive in the main city, but can drive in the countryside, with the farms. Football(soccer) is huge in the country. Any questions?
>>74840990
Impossible
Russia, USA, Ukraine, Syria on the other hand....
>>74841233
Russia, Saudi arabia, Ukraine, Syria. That'd be a spicy one.
>>74841258
>two asians in one group
At least make it possible
>>74841277
Never knew it worked that way.
>>74841079
يا النبي! جهاد الجهاد ضد المؤمنين والمنافقين، وتكون شديدة معهم. يجب أن يكون ملجأهم الجحيم، وهي وجهة شريرة
I don't blame them desu
>>74839638
Life is pretty normal in government controlled areas.
>>74841225
Seems like the government is turboshit though.
Of course the more wealthy people are nicer in general, they don't live under the yoke of the government as much and from what I can tell are horrible Muslims
>>74841318
Have you literally never paid attention to a world cup draw?
>>74841378
Normal for 3rd world though.
Not normal in the 1st world sense.
This should be the official shirt for Syria if they do qualify.
>>74841411
Not really. Most people here don't have such religious impact on their lives. I've met LOTS of muslims who are really nice people. The actual horrible people are the Egyptians. More specifically, Cairo. Sorry egybro, had to say it.
>>74841429
Didn't really pay that much attention to that, no.
>>74841447
d00d fuck yes
>>74841500
I meant horrible muslims in that they are bad at maintaining the tenants of Islam
>>74841544
Oh. Well, the main tenants are pretty simple.
- do ya prayers
- dont eat pork
- dont drink alcohol
- donate 2 da p00rs
and that's what almost every muslim does here.
