People are completely fine with blowouts. That's why FCS teams go get slaughtered every season, and why 16 seeds still get to go to the NCAA tourney.

The REAL reason this is a bad idea is that:

1. it tacks on 6 extra games for the teams in the national championship - meaning they'll have played as many as TWENTY games in a season. Not healthy.

2. it's more difficult to have that many football games at the same location in such a short span of time like they do in basketball.

3. Financial concerns such as attendance/viewership for early rounds

I like it too, I think it's just subtle enough to work. A fair number of Tech fans hate them though. As to extending the concept to the rest of the uniform: Russell did that in 2012 but, because Russell is easily the worst outfitter in sports, I don't think it worked as well as the helmets did. I don't think it belongs in the numerals and the raised look of it just doesn't seem right to me.

But they can't even give us a complete set of uniforms for a season, so it's no surprise that they screwed up the design.

Does Tech still use Russell?

App used them until 2007 when they switched to Nike. The uniforms were simple but good by FCS standards. A bit clunky looking, though.

I wasn't much a fan of Nike's designs for App until the 2016 unis were revealed (pic related). They finally found a good balance between black and yellow, I think.

I agree on App State's look, good on them for hooking up with Nike. I hadn't really looked at them until that pic but good lord those are sharp, the two road uniforms in particular. That all-white is legit fire. The only thing I see that I don't like is wearing dark colored pants with a lighter colored jersey. Do they ever wear white pants with the gold shirt?

That's one of the few combos they haven't tried yet. Pic related is their uniforms from last season - they used 7 different combinations. For the bowl game they repeated the all-white from game 2.

I was actually wondering about the combo in #7 when you posted the first pic, those are fantastic. Even the french fry look in #9 looks alright but damn that #6 bothers the shit out of me.

Not all of the combos are perfect but the uniforms themselves are gorgeous, definitely among the best in the country I think. I know I probably sound like an autist but I'm genuinely impressed with that design, it's so fucking clean and the colors are excellent. I'm jealous.

I know that feel. In 2006 we opened with Notre Dame in Atlanta and it was a big deal for us, ridiculous hype. The (secret) plan was to break out our blue jerseys for the first time since around 1995 but one of the big donors absolutely despised that uniform, made a sizable contribution in exchange for scrapping the blues and threatened to cease donations if we did wear them. This guy was a giant, sentient, festering labial ulcer. We wore gold, lost 14-10 to ND, and finally decided to wear the blue jerseys.. in the ACCCG against Wake. The single worst football game ever played. Which we lost.
