For a vast majority of Americans it is a sport for kids and women.
75% of the population couldn't name an active player, and that's counting the huge number of spics.
Kids growing up want to be a football, baseball, basketball, or even hockey player, because that's what they will always see.
Also I am not going to bring up the "we would dominate if we cared" excuse because we have too much of an emphasis on athleticism which is barely half of what it takes for soccer.
