Hashimoto's final PDC appearance was in the inaugural Japan Darts Masters two years ago, where he lost 6-2 to James Wade in Round 1.

And that D8 ends what became quite a mad night in Rotterdam.

We had our first practically eliminated player in Jelle Klaasen deliver yet another dispirited performance. Averaging just 86 and checking out at 20%, Paedo Suarez struggled to put anything together; 6 missed darts to make it 5-4 the nadir of his evening. James Wade was in Classic Wade mode with a 64% finishing rate.

Peter Wright remains at the top of the table with his fairly easy win over Dave Chisnall. Hitting a 120 to go 2-0 up, Clownman was well below his best but was still too much for Dim Dave to handle. Another low-scoring performance from Chizzy saw a big 123 on the bull for 5-3, but this was as good as it got for him.

Then, the first big Dutch performance of the night as Raymond van Barneveld completely humbled Gary Anderson. Gando, clearly overawed by the orange sea, was lost as Barney averaged 104 to the Scot's 103 and hit 70% of his finishes, including a wondrous 156 to go 5-1 up. Anderson's 108 silenced the crowd but only temporarily.

Adrian Lewis got involved in yet more needle as his rage blew Kim Huybrechts off the stage. Waffleboy went 3-1 up on Aidey with an 89 out before a monster 126 from the Fat Man both tied the match and made him as fuck as he accused Kimmy of stomping the oche to distract him; 4 straight legs secured the win and more than surely Kim's relegation.

Michael van Gerwen gave Phil Taylor a three leg head start before steamrolling the Prowler; averaging 75 at one point, MVG looked lost early on but Pheel didn't take advantage and won just one more leg as he folded to the might of the 100.5-averaging Autism Express, no matter how many stage antics he tried.
