FGCU is legitimately good. Total point differential over the year is nice, they're efficient on offense and their rebounding is dope. If the Dunk City meme wasn't a thing, I'd still probably pick them. They weren't a very good team in 2013. Probably only won because Georgetown.

Forgot to post my other upsets. Eastern Tennessee for the same reasons as FGCU, and cause Florida's center died. There's a reason why it's a popular pick.

New Mexico State because of the same exact reasons too. Really efficient shooting and they will fuck you on the boards. And fuck the Big 12.

Basically, if a team has a 350+ point differential over the season, the data from the last 6 years says they have a 40% chance of winning. That's in the yellow. I did the last 6 years for data on these instances. The blue is self-explanatory, and there are defensive stats down the line that I don't feel like posting that right now. But some combination of this offensive efficiency and rebounding is not a bad recipe. Of course you have to account for their opponent. If it's a decent matchup then hammer it.

Picking Middle Tennessee too. They're probably the best of all these teams. Still not sure about Vermont or UNCW. I have ND going far so I'm scared to pick Princeton even though they're good.

Oh, and URI and Nevada don't really count in this table since they're in decent conferences.
