Listen here bracket noobs, picking the right championship team matters way more than everything else. Your bracket can be shit but picking the champion no one else picked can put you on top.

Star players win in march. Kansas has two top 10 players in the country which can't really be said about any other team. One of those players is the POTY. Have probably the easiest road to the final four when you consider they will play in Kansas City. You are rightfully going to worry about choke potential with Kansas because of their history and this season they have played down to their opponents. But despite them having an easy path, none of the teams they are likely to face are no name schools besides the 16 seed. Once they make the final four they will have the best shot to win because of their star power, experience and the way they have played in big games this year.

Seems like not many are picking Kansas to win it so it's a good chance to get an edge on everyone else in your pool.

Also, Duke has always been sort of an interesting tournament team when it comes to the Sweet 16. They either completely shit the bed and get bounced early, or they make a pretty deep run. I don't remember too many instances where Duke got beat in the round of 16, it's either in the first round or much, much later.

I feel like they're underseeded a bit too, and the Big 12 usually takes a vacation during the tournament anyway. SMU is a good pick for the Sweet 16. Personally, if I were to take them any further than that I'd want to bet on a Marquette upset of Duke as well. Duke either gets beat by somebody who can sucker punch them or a superior heavyweight, and SMU does not meet either of these criteria. If you want to commit to them making a deep run then you might as well go all in and make that your chaos region.

Any combination involving Gonzaga would be a nightmare for anybody who makes money off of this. The same can easily be said for Butler but people seem to forget that Brad Stevens is coaching the Celtics now, I don't see any hope at all of Butler going that far.

Quite honestly, I don't think many people want it to be Duke-NC either.
