Probably because there is a good chance that none of the rookie tight ends have a better year than Bennett does and they want to win this year. They aren't pigeonholed into drafting a TE in round 2 or risking a run on them and not being able to land one of the top 6 or 7 in round 3 or 4. So they can triple dip on defense the first 3 rounds and try to do what Falcons and Steelers did last year, have 3 rookies eventually start on a much improved defense. And then if a TE they like makes it round 4 then they get one, or the get a solid RB in the good RB class.

I dunno. That's just one way to look at it. Anytime you got a top passer and you give him a top weapon it makes sense.
