Wasn't that great IMO. Very streaky. Never took that next step forward. Brandon LaFail 2.0, and the Patriots will probably make him a star.

We also got two potential guys in Ryan Delaire and Larry Webster, plus will probably draft someone plus Peppers signing.

There's a potential of 30-40 sacks between the rotation, not including Ealy.

Bengals had a down year because of Eifert's injury and bad O line play

They still have a bad O line but they are among the best drafting teams in the league and made the playoffs 5 years in a row before 2016 so they are still right in the playoff mix. Ravens have more questions I will definitely agree but so far we've improved in FA and are in a good position in the draft with 4 picks in the first 3 rounds

>>74607025

Bengals entire offense regressed big time after Jackson left, Dalton is now shit again and so are the RBs, all the offensive linemen left in free agency, and the defense is full of grandpas and busts. They are legitimately in a worse position than the Browns and I'm not even memeing.

I know the AFC North isn't the gold standard of the NFL anymore however the Browns roster is nowhere near competing with the other 3 teams with where they sit right now. Improving an Oline can do wonders for a team, especially against current AFC North defenses, I mean, take a look at the Steelers, even DeAngelo Williams was doing great with them.

Kessler looks like a solid starter, certainly not an answer for their QB problem, but he can be there until they find other key players. I'm pretty sure any decent WR could be a playmaker under Hue Jackson.

That play was effective for the Seahawks and led to a few TD's for them in the regular season. I don't think Seattle thought the Pats would've actually practised that play multiple times with different corners. They're confidence in the play being successful probably rose when they saw this no name corner come on the field to defend a pretty reliable receiver.

Buddy as far as SB calls go. It's pretty fucking bad. What's worse is that instead of coming out in a formation they usually run out of they came out in the one they always throw red zone slants out of that's how Butler knew to jump the route so hard. Watch he starts to crawl up the moment he sees the formation/motion combo. The only thing worse was the nanners not feeding gore in the same exact situation the year b4. Horrid idea. Half the Seahawks locker room and coaching staff are still pissed about it. There were better options with not as much risk

Lynch gained at least a yard on every carry in that game. And scored from the 3 yard line in that game. Patriots were bottom of the league against power runs.

Seahawks only didn't run it because they stupidly wasted their time outs. So they had to pass. Pete Carroll even admitted he fucked up right after the game. He said it was his bad.

no, because it was a pick play on the other team's most physical corner. the play call was bad, but the idea of passing is fine. lynch was not a good goal line back that year, and not a single pass attempt was intercepted from the 1-yard line all year until that one.

people really like to apply revisionist history to this shit but in reality butler made an amazing play and the specific play call was sub-optimal. that's it.

because of the decrease in good offensive linemen, QB injuries will be the big narrative of the season.
The Pats go 8-8 after Brady tears his Achilles
Aaron Rodgers tears his ACL
Andrew Luck gets a severe concussion and retires due to brain damage
Marcus Mariota injures his shoulder
Deshaun Watson will be forced to start for his shit team at some point and he ends up blowing out his knee
the Bucs win the NFC South and make it to the NFC Championship
AP rebounds with a team and leads the league in rushing
the Browns go 9-7
Russell Wilson wins the MVP
The 49ers will have a better record than the Rams and Cards
Cam Newton will lead the league in Interceptions
Terrelle Pryor will lead the league in receiving yards.
Richard Sherman gets arrested for DUI and assaulting a police officer
the Bills will have a top 5 defense
the Giants will win the NFC East
Mike Glennon will make the Pro-bowl
>>
>>74608154

>>
>>74608121
I misremembered the fact. Lynch gained at least a yard against eight in the box.

http://nflbreakdowns.com/lynch-vs-8-box/

I don't even get why you're arguing that Carroll was passing because it was a stronger option or because Lynch struggled on the goal line. He chose to pass because he wanted to have four chances to win. He couldn't run it four times because he wasted time outs. So he chose to pass, thinking it would be at worst incomplete. Then they could run it two more times.

>>
>>74608236
i'm not saying i don't understand why they ran it, or that they might not have been better served doing something else. all i'm saying is that people freak out over the idea that they passed, which is the wrong thing to be upset about. personally i would have isolated baldwin on the team's second corner and let him make moves, but what do i know.

Yeah but even that is the wrong answer because they didn't run stuff. Literally the right answer is to run first/pass second in that situation, but Bill knew that Carrol and bevell were arrogant fucks and would go TD or bust on the first play. why don't you go back and read literally any of the posts in this comment chain? no one is defending THAT SPECIFIC CALL, just the idea of passing the ball on the goal line. we even tried to explain to your retarded ass why they did it.

Stupid, stupid stuff to compare a bunch of regular season games to the most important moment in the man's career.
>>
>>74608718
Well, they should've called anything else than a fucking slant.

Bad call, get over it.

The argument is that it wasn't the absolute worst, but was a suboptimal call that was worsened by an incredible play by Butler.

Though I would argue that using a play that could be diagnosed by an undrafted rookie CB is a sign that it was a horrid playcall.
>>
>>74608718
That was against the Niners front seven tho

it was a shit call and shit execution

the game was on the fucking line and they call a slant to Ricardo fucking Lockette?

You go back and read man. The original premise was whether or not that specific call was awful. He posted a relevant pic and everything. Just because you all digressed to goal line calls in general doesn't make you right.

Football is a crazy game. That Interception changed the course of Brady's career. Imagine if Butler were a tick late. Just one. Lockette catches it. Seahawks go back 2 back. Brady is 3-3 in SBs. Belichick is called senile for not calling his time outs.

There was a similar moment in SBLI. Brady marched them down in OT. On first and goal, he threw it. Vic Beasley was in a decent position to pick the ball. Had some room in front of him too. It goes incomplete and Pats score on the next play. If he makes that pick and the Patriots end up losing, everyone would be tearing that playcall apart.

>>
>>74608925
obviously brady is an all-time great, but you can identify about 6 plays that he wasn't even on the field for that could've moved him from 3-4 or 5-2 all time with a 19-0. That's precisely the rings crew are either baiting or plebs. easy to spot.

Will Ro-Mo ever take another snap in the NFC?
>>
>>74608971
I don't recall any facemask, but in case there was one it should've been offsetting penalties. Not to mention the bullshit spot that put the Saints out of the FG range in the first half.

Djax hasn't shown any negative impact while on the redskin, Gallette is injured and playing at vt minimum, and Norman has become a leader in the locker room. In the past yes they really fucked up in FA but ever since Shanahan things have gotten better.
