>>
>>74601860
Nah, they actually play less cricket these days believe it or not.

Border had a similar record, I'm fairly sure he went for over 100 back to back tests.

I know an Australian guy came out with a book a few months back that claimed that fast bowlers were breaking down more regularly since the change to the front foot no ball rule from the back foot rule meant that they were carrying too much force through their front legs, so that could be a factor. Guys like Pattinson, Cummins, Bond and the like seem to get a lot of back problems too though, and I don't know how that's linked. All I know for certain is that players are playing less cricket and getting injured more.
>>
>>74601803

Maybe slinging is something that needs to be looked at more. Then again Malinga and Tait are always breaking down, so who knows.

The "Australian" likes to reddit post simply because it is learned behavior. Simply put the "Australian", who posts his zingers on reddit, takes an introspective look at himself and sees the shambles of his life. This depressive view therefore, in the "Australian" mind, connects and views the act of posting on reddit as a self destructive act. The "Australian" simply projects himself upon their own posts and pushes his deep sadness onto others.

Reddit in and of itself has no meaning, but carries the embarrassment of the poster, hence being something to be ashamed of.

Mason Crane, the Hampshire legspinner, has become the first overseas cricketer to play for New South Wales in more than 30 years after being handed his debut against South Australia.

There was some thought that damp weather in Sydney would hamper his chances of being named in the XI, but on Tuesday morning he was handed his NSW cap by former Australia legspinner Stuart MacGill, who Crane has worked closely with during his stint playing grade cricket for Gordon where he caught the eye of NSW selectors.

At the end of a rain-affected first day, Crane had his first Shield wicket. Despite only bowling five overs, he had Tom Cooper caught trying to clear the infield as South Australia stuttered to 5 for 169.

His spell in Australia had been arranged through the ECB's overseas placement scheme with help from Hampshire team-mate Will Smith, a previous Gordon player, and 20-year-old Crane is the first overseas player for NSW since Imran Khan in 1984-85.

"Australian State teams don't pick overseas players lightly, especially New South Wales, as their record shows," Peter Such, the ECB's leading spin-bowling coach, said. "So to force his way in through weight of wickets, and also the impression he has made in their practice sessions, is a tribute both to his ability and the hard work he has put in.

>>74611410
The problem with most gimmick posters these days is that they go too hard too early and their gimmick suffers backlash from the wider poomunity. At this point, they have 2 options, to modify their gimmicks slightly or give up.

People then see these modifications and react to them further, inevitably causing it to fail. Prozziebro is the prime example of this, as soon as his story started to change, people caught on and it was all over.

This is why newsman is towards the top of the gimmick tree. The gimmick is centred around singular posts without replying, removing themselves from the conversation ie doesn't try and insert himself as a poosanality. The poosanality market is ALWAYS full. Gimmick posters must stay clear of it using other methods of being noticed and furthering their gimmicks.

When you ask for best, Quality > quantity

And it is now dead because he pushed it too hard. He needed to be doing weekly or bi-weekly updates to his narrative instead of every night. He got greedy which ultimately destroyed his gimmick.

The best gimmicks are sporadic and continuous. B3K is a prime example of this

Off the back of one first class match in six years, speedster Pat Cummins has been named as Mitch Starc's replacement in the Australian squad for the third Test in India.

Starc was forced to head home after the second Test loss with stress fractures in his foot, and Cummins has won the nod ahead of the likes of James Pattinson and Chadd Sayers.

Cummins has played one Test — a man-of-the-match performance as an 18-year-old in South Africa back in 2011 — and 28 ODIs for Australia, his young career held back by persistent injury.

He took eight wickets in his Sheffield Shield comeback against South Australia last week, a return impressive enough to earn him a flight to India.

"It's unfortunate to lose Mitch out of the squad in India. In selecting Pat, we were looking for a strike bowling replacement option," selector Trevor Hohns said.

"Pat has impressed in his return to cricket this summer with consistent performances in his ODI, twenty20 international and Big Bash matches.
"He has also had a very good Sheffield Shield return for New South Wales, after six years off, where he made a notable Shield best 4-57 in the first innings, before bettering those figures in the second innings with 4-47 in his man-of-the-match performance."

Hohns's comments suggest Cummins is a good chance of earning selection for the third Test in Ranchi on Thursday.

I'm 31 tomorrow, and I've been NEET ever since the day after my 18th birthday

How they expect me to do that I have no idea

I will be 50 in June.

How exciting, fulfilling is my life?

2000 on a Saturday night and I am sitting on the couch in a darkened room wearing a t-shirt and boots, posting on 4chan and my 15 year old dog sleeping (snoring) under the table.

About as good as it ever gets.

Microwave just chimed, time for pizza and some Fanta.

go to your nearest uni on Monday and see if you can get into a course, worst case they will put you in a 12 month tafe diploma that gives you credit for a year of uni. I think once you get an acceptance letter you can just apply for austudy. 3 units would actually only be 9 contact hours but the tafe course might be 4-5 days a week, tafe is usually pretty fun and easy though

I eagerly await the next election after Grylls is lobotmised so the liberals can bring a proper economic portfolio to the table.

I am absolutely livid over the populist vote grabbing shit Labor pulled, particularly their promise to cancel a highway extension that's been planned for decades, is already contracted and where the land has already been cleared and construction started. They're also going to sell naming rights to the new Perth Stadium which is fucking stupid.

>Recall that Western Australia’s share of the GST for this financial year is a mere 38c in the dollar. And if the recommendation of the Commonwealth Grants Commission is accepted by Joe Hockey, Western Australia’s share next year will be under 30c.

>To add insult to injury, tiny Tasmania will receive more in absolute terms than Western Australia next financial year — $2.236bn if the grants commission’s recommendation is implemented. Note that Tasmania’s population is one-fifth of Western Australia’s.

>If all that is not bad enough, the ACT also receives a relativity greater than one. Yes, the ACT, with its army of highly paid public servants and tiny land mass, is subsidised by the donor states, particularly Western Australia. This must surely stick in the craw of many West Australians.

States will start to swing back to liberal, and shorten will get kicked out if he hasn't already retired as PM by that point with the libs winning back the reps.

You can say that about South Australia, the territory and Tasmania, but not WA. There's a reason the idea of seceding is always floating around here and why the '33 referendum passed. Policy has always been passed that promotes the needs of the east over the west. I can understand why that happens and I'm not one of the secessionism bogans , but it doesn't change the facts.

>Ashwin has dismissed Warner nine times in Test cricket, including twice in Bengaluru. During a media interaction on Saturday, a journalist asked Warner if he was thinking of using the switch-hit as a way to combat him.

>"Yeah, the last Test I was contemplating that," Warner said. "I tried to play a reverse-sweep. The only concern for me was the variable bounce, that's always the challenging thing because if you miss that and you switch-hit, you can still be given out lbw, but if you reverse-sweep, you can't, so you've got to be careful."

>Unlike the reverse-sweep, the switch hit involves the batsman changing his grip on the bat handle as well as reversing his stance, after the bowler has begun his run-up. In May 2012, the ICC mulled a change in the lbw law, wherein a batsman attempting a switch-hit could be given out lbw even if the ball pitched outside his leg stump.

>No such law change, however, has been passed since, with the MCC ruling in May 2013 that the switch-hit should remain a legitimate part of the game, with some leeway afforded to bowlers in limited-overs cricket with regards to wide balls.

Imagine getting paid millions to play cricket and not understanding th basic laws of the game

>New Zealand and Auckland batsmen Colin Munro will miss the next round of games in the domestic first-class competition, the Plunket Shield, due to a code of conduct breach. At a hearing on March 8, Munro was found guilty of using "inappropriate language" in Auckland's previous game, against Canterbury. He did not appeal the verdict.
>New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White said in a statement: "Colin Munro has been suspended from playing in the upcoming eighth round of the Plunket Shield, as a result of a Code of Conduct hearing following the Aces' previous match, against Canterbury at Eden Park. Munro had used inappropriate language in the round-seven fixture and, given his previous record in this area, handed down a one-match suspension."

27 here. I think I just found my calling in life and that is to move out of Ausfailia and into a country where over half of the available women to date or marry aren't entitled landwhales. I'm eyeing China and Russia currently and learning both languages.

>"If Australia ever needed an enema, Sydney would be the place for it."

>Polluted, overcrowded, over-hyped and ridiculously expensive. That's how one person has described Australia's largest city amid a debate over whether a member of "generation rent" can ever hope to break into the housing market.

>Sydney nurse Damien Davis, 30, pays $200 (NZ$218) a week in rent on a take-home salary of A$60,000 and has managed to save just A$6000 in six years. With unit prices in his area averaging more than A$1 million, he complains that even forgoing his annual trip overseas wouldn't have made much difference.

The best thing about working is that im forced to do all my shit within a time frame

When I was at Pooni i was such a procrastinater that I'd invariably let assignments consume my entire day and then still not get shit done.

At least these days i finish work at 4 and im home at 4.30 and then the rest of the evening is for free time
>>
>>74657027

I still don't know how I dragged my ass through University, the only advice I can give is if you get an assignment start chipping away it immediately. I would normally start by just making dot points of what each paragraph section might be then try to at least do a few paragraphs every day. it amazing how quickly that little bit can add up to finished assignments
>>
>>74657035
the 25 weeks of holidays a year was nice though

>>74657040

yeah I spent most of it painting the house, good times though, would love to just have money and spend time fixing up old houses
>>
>>74657044
My primary motivation for working is to retire early. I am an absolute monk with my spending. 90% of my after-tax income gets invested into equities (will go into property in the next couple of years).

The only way I can really see myself working until Im old is if Im lucky enough to get a job role that I'm super passionate about. They exist but it's super super difficult to get into. I came oh so agonisingly close to getting said role 2 years ago which only makes it worse.

i'm basically a normie now, barely come here anymore desu
>>
>>74657027
as someone who dropped out of uni after second year then went back, won awards and only got below a distinction for two units, it's simple.
do your notes for a lecture that day and read over at least one set of notes for all your subjects before bed
try to start your assignments at least a week early, if not more if it's a big research essay or something
if you catch the bus, read some notes on the way to and from uni each day
waking up early and exercising will keep you motivated through the day, but there's no simple fix to apathy you've just got to force yourself to do shit until it becomes routine

by the time exams come I barely needed to study after doing all that shit

3 bbl games back to back to back would be elite. I'm all for le fug le poopeeland, but autistically I can't stand the idea of teams only playing some of the other teams twice. Year to year teams will sneak into the final simply being schedule babbies. Yes I know it currently happens with teams playing 1 extra game, and I fucking hate it
