Kahne fan. I'm starting to like Larson because of how similar their first three seasons were.

I like drivers who finish second. Why? It goes back to Mark Martin.

NASCAR is somehow actively working to make the cars race better, the cars are way better than they were in the 13-15 clean air era, take away more downforce and fuck that splitter already and we'd be /90s/ in here.

I keep hearing rumors of a """""third""""" Indycar manufacturer which would likely rebrand a Cosworth. Talks are likely spurred on by the new aero kits/spec aero which will somewhat drop costs but it remains to be seen if it's significant enough to move on from pure speculation. I can't think of a manufacturer who would be keen on it: people say brands like FCA or Renault who might be looking to make a splash in the US market. Perhaps Renault/Nissan makes sense for the V6 turbo, some have also mentioned Mercedes because of their ties with Cosworth.

We'll probably find out as the 2018 car comes together and whether they open up the engine regs for a possible change in direction. The concepts of the car seem pretty tidy and development seems on track. I trust the aero guys they have working and Jay Frye to get something good out there.

If Joonya keeps complaining about the splitter we might get that gone as well. But then the drivers successfully complaining is starting to get somewhere cause Stage Racing isn't that bad. All they have to do now is shorten the calendar, add more variety and tell Eddie Gossage to go eat a dick so they can run COTA and Texas (Because COTA would sell out and since it has floodlights they can run a night time circuit race that would look pretty damn spectacular and be ratings gold. If Drivers, Teams and Networks want to do a midweek race. That's a slam dunk right there).

Also who /ragsinabox/ while waiting till April for ARCA, here?
>>
The truck and ARCA schedule is tough. Daytona is basically just a teaser for the regular season. It bums me out how those series do not pick up until later in April.

The truck series may be my favorite NASCAR series. I never know what those inexperienced drivers are going to do or who is going to win those races. It seems like anyone in the top ten can win on any given night. The trucks consistently put on the best show of the weekend.

Hendrick's pit strategies have been really good this season so far while JGR have consistently shit the bed (lol everyone but Denny getting nailed for Speeding) that I could see Gimmie sneaking one out. I agree with this to a certain extent. Nielsen ratings don't matter anymore because they're not accurate and they can never count the amount of people watching on pirate streams.

Motorsport will always be niche compared to other regular sports. So it's better to cater to the hardcore fans that support the sport instead of trying to go for mainstream audience mass appeal. It's harder for racing teams to make a profit compared to other major sport teams. You always have to re-invest in your car and equipment. Racing series organizers have to invest in making contracts with circuits. So the costs are higher than in normal sports.

People in general aren't interested in driving or racing so they can't relate to going fast and what's happening on the track. Instead of learning how to drive numale beta cucks rather tap an app on their phone so they can get a ride to the mall to waste sheckels. Shit parents can't be arsed to teach their shit kids how to drive and instead rely on brake assist lane-watch assist bullshit instead of learning how to fucking drive.

Where I live a vehicle is a necessity not a luxury because public transportation is non-existent. but the average person in general doesn't care about cars and doesn't enjoy driving/piloting.

That's why motorsports shouldn't try so hard to make changes to appeal to casuals for a wider appeal. Don't even bother and instead focus on appealing to the hardcore fanbase that's already there. Let the racing and the sport naturally grow the audience.

That's why you don't watch motorsport for the crashes, because as a driver you don't want to crash. as a crew chief you don't want to crash that is not the objective of the sport.

i don't think kids even care about collecting hot wheels and diecast models anymore everything's electronics. Society's interest in performance cars is dwindling in general. Being a petrol head that likes to go fast has a social stigma, it's seen as anti-environmental and dangerous.

switching to that Chase format and refusing to go back on it was the start of the downfall to nascrap's slow and painful death. Those executives won't realize their mistake until all of the sponsors pull out and the sport is completely bankrupt. and the manufacturers can't even use "road relevant technology" as an excuse. Toyota only tried so hard because they thought it would make them look like an American company and increase US sales.

tldr; just like hockey compared to football/soccer or apehoop there's always going to be an initial cost barrier with hockey. you need an ice rink and all the equipment makes it more expensive compared to a ball and a net.

There was nothing cool about what Kyle did. On track, he pinned Joey down. Joey was forced to either hit the brakes or wreck Kyle. Why not take him out when he gives you a perfect opportunity?

So Kyle tries to start a fight, essentially unprovoked. He took the first swing, but Joey was able to dodge it. At which point, Joey's crew defended him as he decided he was the bigger man and walked away. Joey unquestionably won the fight by not participating.

Kryle looks like a massive bitch as usual. Mad at everyone else but he doesn't realize he's in the wrong. I'm just glad someone finally bloodied his face.

>>
>>74652982

Nvm, apparently it was something in his right front wheel. Tough break for sure, tho that 2 team looks great so far this year.
>>
>>74651499

I didn't have a prob with what Kyle or Logano did on the track desu.

Kyle came down on him rather than lifting on the final lap. Joey was trying to pin him behind Brad so it's all fair game.

Then Joey drove it deep into the corner and got really loose. It wasn't that he pulled a Ryan Newman/Larson from a few years back where Newman just never lifted and used Larson to turn, Joey's car got noticeably loose and he tried to save it but caught Kyle.

Joey bit off more than he could chew on that corner, but that is exactly what this format pushes you to do. So I'm alright with it.

Kyle wanting to fight afterwards was dumb all things considered, but good for the sport.
>>
Also that 24/5 side of the garage seem to have it figured out a lot better than the 48/88 side. Especially the 24.

CGR chassis w/HMS engines are outperforming HMS to start the year. Easily.

only if you're carl edwards matt kenseth or ryan newman
>>
>>74655023

Under the guise of "racing hard" you're allowed to do pretty much anything in process of racing for position.

Which is why even if Logano was totally intentional, and not sure that it was, it was still fair game.

Kyle was starting to wreck anyway since he was way loose coming into the final turn and had already bumped Logano while avoiding Bread. Logano was within his right to shove him.

>>74658349

The Edwards wreck was mostly down to NASCAR's new dumb rule regarding the inside line at 'Dega and Daytona. No room to move.

I thought for sure Joey dodged the punch because of how smug he was in the interview. Apparently he's always a lying cunt, even after he gets hit.

Jeff Gluck's video clearly shows the punch just barely landing on Joey's chin.
