Jordie Barret and Milner Skudder. Perenara seems to have upped his game again.

They've only played bottom feeders thus far though so dont read too much into it
>>
>>74522808
Cop your laughing gear around this info m8:

Forwards: Chris Eves, Reggie Goodes, Ben May, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Loni Uhila, Mike Kainga, Dane Coles, Leni Apisai, Ricky Ricciteli, Mark Abbott, James Broadhurst, Geoff Cridge, Michael Fatialofa, Sam Lousi, Callum Gibbins, Vaea Fifita, Reed Prinsep, Hugh Renton, Ardie Savea, Brad Shields, Blade Thomson, Toa Halafihi.

Backs: TJ Perenara, Te Toiria Tahuiorangi, Kylem O'Donnell, Beauden Barrett, Otere Black, Vince Aso, Ngani Laumape, Matt Proctor, Pita Ahki, Wes Goosen, Cory Jane, Julian Savea, Ben Lam, Nehe Milner-Skudder, Peter Umaga-Jensen, Jordie Barrett.

Good: They have Beauden Barrett and that puts any team off to a good start. Particularly when he's partnered in the halves by TJ Perenara. The loose forwards look handy, despite the departure of Victor Vito, and the return of Nehe Milner-Skudder at fullback should offset the absence of James Marshall. Best of all is the belief many of this group built by winning the title last year.

Bad: Bad's a bit extreme, but the Hurricanes still look a little thin in midfield. Willis Halaholo is now in Wales, having established a useful partnership with Matt Proctor last season. Proctor remains, as do Vince Aso and Ngani Laumape, but none are really proven performers just yet. The tight five are decent, but hardly frightening. Be interesting to see if James Broadhurst can get on the park this season and if fellow lock Michael Fatialofa continues 2016's development.

In: Toa Halafihi (Taranaki), Jordie Barrett (Canterbury), Kylem O'Donnell (Taranaki), Peter Umaga-Jensen (Wellington), Ben Lam (Blues), Sam Lousi (Waratahs), Reed Prinsep (Crusaders).

Out: James Blackwell, Jamison Gibson-Park (Leinster), Tony Lamborn, Willis Halaholo (Cardiff), Iopu Iopu-Aso, James Marshall (LOndon Irish), Motu Matu'u (Gloucester), Hisa Sagai, TJ Va'a, Victor Vito (La Rochelle), Jason Woodward (Bristol).

You're fucking delusional. I know he's not been hyped up like Memerose but if he was playing for Leinster or Munster, Off the Ball and the Times would be creaming themselves at the thought of him playing for Ireland. Don't get me wrong, I'm against the residency rules and Bundee playing for Ireland seems wrong to me, but the idea that it's anything to do with his ability is ridiculous.

Even when both him and Henshaw were fit last year, Bundee was unironically the better player. Henshaw was actually put out at fullback for a lot of the season because Lam didn't want to disrupt the Ronaldson-Aki centre partnership. He's the difference between Connacht struggling against midtable teams in the Pro12 and them beating Wasps and Toulouse. If he'd been fit in January, Connacht would be in the European quarter-finals.

I honestly can't undersell the extent to which he is a game-breaker. Every time he gets on the ball, you can hear it in the crowd. He's got better hands than Henshaw, and while Bundee's not as strong as him, he's a more powerful carrier than he looks. He's also a very good defender. His positioning is good at 12 or 13, he shoots up well and he gets at least one massive defensive hit in per game. I'm a regular at the Sportsground and the reaction to Henshaw leaving was generally "At least it's not Bundee". Memes aside, I'm genuinely a fan of Ringrose, but if Bundee chooses to play for Ireland, he'll be out of the team by the end of November. End of story.

But in all seriousness I am inclined to agree with you to a degree. I also believe that in the old days luatua's hit would've been a yellow, but does that mean they were right back then? Not necessarily. The red was deserved in the sense that he was dumb enough to make the hit though.

>>
>>74526733
Look at this way. If a team are tackling dangerously and injure a player, then that player is out for the rest of the game, while the tackler is only out for 10 minutes. That could easily make it worthwhile for teams to target the opposition's most influential player and be confident of making up the for any damage done during the sin binning when they're back to having 15 men.

This isn't some sort of crazy fantasy that could never happen either. Not to go too heavy on the "coulda doyd" but there has been a number of teams in recent years who've clearly been told to go out and play "on the esge" like France, Munster and New Zealand in the second test against Ireland. I'm not saying they were sent out to injure people, but that's just what's going to happen, and with the level of concussion in the game, World Rugby either have to act or face a bunch of lawsuits for negligence in 5-10 years time.

Is Neil Francis /ourguy/?
>Madigan's career is now a lament. This is the ballad of Ian Madigan
>Madigan, brilliant in a lot of respects, is just not good enough at the highest level
>if he was good enough to be the main man he would not be in the predicament he finds himself in now
>If you are a representative player, green is always the colour you think about! Not dollar green
>Madigan's untenable situation became a matter of public knowledge in the last week or so but the way it has been handled would make the Keystone Kops blush
>Madigan got humiliated in the rugby domain when Connacht said (in public) that they did not want him
>Later in the week Girvan Dempsey was wheeled out and said: "He is too talented a guy not to be snapped up by a club. I imagine he'll be picked up pretty quickly." Dempsey is a nice fella and tried to couch it as nicely as he could that Leinster did not need nor want one of their favourite sons back
>On his recent sojourn Madigan said: "A move back to Ireland would certainly excite me - there is no doubt about that. Playing for Ireland is still the ultimate for me."
>It is crystal clear that if you leave the Irish provincial system to play rugby in England or France you will not be chosen for Ireland
>If playing for Ireland is the ultimate then why did Madigan go to Bordeaux?
>Northampton apparently put £500,000 on Madigan's head. I am led to believe that Bristol have beaten that offer and a deal could be signed this weekend
>If it is Bristol, that would finish Madigan's international career
>they will likely go down to the Greene King India Pale Ale RFU Championship - the name of the league is not a joke
>Joe Schmidt is keeping in touch with Madigan but I suspect on a purely platonic basis

The French are retarded, but Bourdeaux realised their mistake. They must be absolutely delighted.

Between buying in-their-prime All Blacks and making Pat Lam higher paid than nearly every international coah in the world, Bristol seem to be absolutely desperate to bankrupt themselves. What are the odds on them completely imploding next year and not even getting out of the Premership?

At the end of the piece on Ian Madigan
>I see Josh Strauss is leaving the Glasgow Warriors and joining Sale Sharks next season. Strauss was born 30 years ago in Belville, South Africa. His parents and all his antecedents are South African and he had never been to Scotland until he joined Glasgow in September 2012. In September 2015 he became eligible under the residency rule to play for Scotland. Other than being resident in Glasgow, Strauss had no connection whatsoever to Scotland.
>Strauss instructed his agent to go and get him a better deal than he was on in Glasgow, and sure enough Sale came up with pots of money for the mercenary. The only thing that qualified Strauss - a complete outsider - to play for Scotland was that he played in Scotland for a Scottish side. That situation has now ceased because of greater monetary gains in England.
>We all know this is morally and ethically wrong because getting to play for your country is the highest honour you can achieve. Getting to play for someone else's country? Well, respect for the jersey and the circumstances of your advent to Scotland should be observed now that you are a resident. Casually bogging off to play your club rugby in England while continuing to play for the country that you have deserted for more money is a travesty.
>I am reliably informed that this shit stops in May when World Rugby will put a five-year rule in place.

Why? He fucked off to France for the money, all the while talking out the side of his mouth about how his real aim was to play for Ireland. If he wanted to play for Ireland, he'd be in Galway or Limerick right now.
>>
>>74533144
Biggar is a good player. His game management, defence and kicking game (not just off tee) are brilliant but he struggles to get an offence moving against test-quality defences. I'm not sure it'd work, but I would like to see him playing as an Farrell-type 12 outside Davies. Sam is not quite up to the game management of Biggar but his kicking game is nearly as good and he doesn't shy away from making hits, and he is much better going forward
>>
>>74533240
They're upping their game a bit as of late, mostly because Henson is back and in very good form, but yep, still bottom and still likely to go down

That's pretty accurate 4 boomfas followed by a chip and chase, followed by 4 boomfas and a chip and chase. Rinse and repeat until a player isn't skilled enough to keep the ball in the field of play or isn't skilled enough to catch the ball or isn't skilled enough to hold onto the ball when tackled.

Rugby league is a bastardisation of touch rugby for players that are some combination of not big, strong or smart enough to play rugby or aren't quick, explosive or smart enough to play 7's.

It's just tough competition, made particularly bad because of a current healthy stock of test class utility backs. Both Dagg and Smith can cover wing, and Barrett can cover both wing and full back.

In terms of the wing specialist department, Savea's position is difficult to dethrone, because the ABs selectors always want at least one wing that can crashball.

It just makes me feel sad because Lowe is begging to be tested in a black jersey. I only hope he comes back after his three year tenure at least as good as when he left if not a better rugby player to have another crack.
>>
>>74540610
I have always rated Lowe and am sad to see him go 2bh.
NMS can wing and fullback too
Aso is showing himself to be a great player when you need that something different to trip up a team on the wing. A small point of difference like that can be deadly to an unprepared team.
We have a lot of depth in the outside backs at the moment, so bar and injury call up I can understand why he is following the money.
I would be surprised if McMeme got an AB jersey ever again at this rate so I half expect him to go overseas. But the old boys club is pretty strong in the AB's so it could happen even though he has been exposed as sub par again and again.

The absolute STATE of Connacht's pitch
>0:40 - McKeon falls on ball at moderate speed and slides for a few metres
>1:11 - You can hear the squelching boots as Zebre defenders shoot up
>1:23 - Dawai jumps down with the ball and digs a giant patch of ground up

How did this game go ahead?

Why does our media have to be such seething damage control faggots
>>
>>74556047

None of that was damage control you wankstain. Damage control would be them saying that Cyprus didn't legitimately hold the record (which they do).
>>
>>74556047
>the all blacks' winning streak not only included a World Cup final

Now let's just stop you right there. It also included all their RWC games, including Namibia, Georgia and Tonga.

And pretty much every lengthy streak starts with winning the World Cup - England is the exception to the rule here.
>>
>>74556211

No, the record is 18 wins straight BY a tier 1 nation, and by tier 1 nation here they are not referring to the big 4 but to any team playing at the top flight level (i.e., even Scotland, Italy and Georgia would be considered tier one nations for the purpose of this record)

Right?
>>
>>74570117
It would be embarrassing if you don't 2bh
Especially considering to beat you lot they will need to employ a meme tactic that has been revealed and that the counter to is pick and go which any high-school team should be able to figure out after playing against it for 5 minutes.

Italy would stop the meme tactics after a couple of pick and goes make 10+m because everyone is dicking around in the backs

It's not great going forward but Warburton is top of the pilfering stats this 6N and Tipuric went a full year without missing a tackle. O'Brien is quality but Stander is a one-trick pony, and that one trick is the thing that Wales can stop quite easily
>>
>>74571424
>walels overrating the backrow that got outplayed by scotlands second choice backrow
>>
>>74571495
>back row got outplayed
the rest of the team got outplayed, apart from 4 or 5 players (the loosies and a few others) our support play has been lazy as fuck. The flankers can't clear out every ruck, but last weekend they were having to.
>>
guys i would like to start waching some rugby, is it worth waching? are jaguares even good?
>>
>>74571490
I actually agree desu

Ireland didn't commit the necessary amount to the ruck against France, choosing to try and keep more players alive for the next phase and it backfired on them

There's been times in the past where I feel we've played into Wales' hands when we've lost to them and I could see us doing that again

Ireland's gameplan itself relies on continuity of phase play and the retention of possession and with two good 7's picking us off against the solid Welsh defence we could be fucked, our kicking game could be jeopardized aswell since Wales are very sound there

I mean one out runners taking the ball up individually could kill us against ye, especially like how we played in the first 20 and when Sexton was down near the end where we lacked any direction or organization

I'd prefer if VDF was fit and at 7 desu with SOB at 6 or POM at 6

Either way I'm very worried about this game and have been for a while, I'd give us more of a chance of beating England than a Welsh team needing a reaction in Cardiff
>>
>>74571706
>are jaguares even good?
They are preety good but have porr discipline and can be bad at managing a game at times. If they were playing in the pro 12 they could definitely come top 6
>>
>>74571744
>I'd give us more of a chance of beating England than a Welsh team needing a reaction in Cardiff
I kinda feel the same way.
Everything about this wales match screams banana skin, from past matches to current expectations to the fact that wayne barnes is ref. It should be tight.

england have shown themselves to be eminently beatable, they've been unimpressive so far, and ireland have shown themselves in recent history to be able to perform to an exemplary level and dominate teams

id say scotland are licking their lips, effectively playing for a championship and on a high

The "Australian" likes to reddit post simply because it is learned behavior. Simply put the "Australian", who posts his zingers on reddit, takes an introspective look at himself and sees the shambles of his life. This depressive view therefore, in the "Australian" mind, connects and views the act of posting on reddit as a self destructive act. The "Australian" simply projects himself upon their own posts and pushes his deep sadness onto others.

Reddit in and of itself has no meaning, but carries the embarrassment of the poster, hence being something to be ashamed of.

And refball is a bit of a meme except in the edge cases where it is blatant favoritism. In most cases "refball" is just one team failing at adapting to play the style of rugby the ref wants to be played.
t. Still mad at the ref allowing the Chiefs to use meme tactics so they could use golden oldies to finally win a scrum and then the game when "we" would have won the scrum and then most likely scored (a legitimate case of refball)
Actually I think that was Joubert too. Fuck him

Rob, Keith, Garry, Robbie, Simon, Jonathan, Conor, Jack, Rory, Tadhg, Iain, Devin, Christian, Seán and Jamie.

Aside from the weird spellings of Gary and Ian, Devin is the only one that jumps out as uncommon. Never met a lad named Devin in my life.

Yeah, he's out injured. Was at a summer camp with a lad named Ultan when I was a kid. He was really fat, had a funny smell about him, went to a gaelscoil and his family was really rich off the back of property. He had this absolute ride of a mother that would pick him up in their brand new Benz, wearing really tight-fitting clothes and sunglasses regardless of the weather. That family, more than anyone else I knew, with the Celtic Tiger.

Can't say Ultan is a very common name though.

When I went to primary school my parents let me choose if I wanted to be known by my full name, shortened name or my middle name (which is a biblical name). I went with the short one that all my family had called me by since as long as I can remember.
