Well, according to John "Stupid dumb fucking retard incompetent dipshit assface" Farrell, this injury issue is a "problem that David deals with every spring" (Despite the fact that Boston beat writers went and asked Price's pitching coaches from Tampa Bay and they LITERALLY said he had never had any kind of issue in Spring Training before).

He went and saw both Dr. Andrews and Dr. ElAttrache (the two biggest baseball surgeons in the country, both with specialties on elbows and shoulders) and they met in a Hotel near the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Apparently they checked him out privately in his room, and the both came to the conclusion that not only was surgery not needed, but that he didn't even need a PRP injection. And typically when pitchers see Dr. Andrews, he recommends a PRP at the very least.

So this is telling from a "mental exaggeration of existing pain" side of things. Price seems to be a little edgy to start the season, particularly if you've seen any of his comments to reporters this season. He got lit the fuck up in his ST start, and then all of a sudden this "injury" occurs.

To summarize what I'm saying, basically, Price is shook to start the season. He's clearly still got the criticism of last year in the back of his mind. And he's been passively aggressively tweeting this offseason about the criticism, and now this....

So, now he's being sidelined for 7-10 days, which means two things:

1. He won't be ready for the start of the season most likely, given the time table.
2. He's probably going to drop to a fringe spot start and if he fails again, the team might further propagate the idea of an "injury" for Price, acting as an excuse.

He's also really fucking up the rotation to begin the season, with both Pomeranz and Wright still not being fully healthy to start the season.
