So the last 32 ends with the only remaining Rileys qualifier amazingly still in it as Paul Hogan repeated his feat of last night by taking out a double back-to-back World Champion. This time, however, it was far easier as Adrian Lewis was floored by Crocodile Dundee, a 161 in leg 3 and then a 116 to set up a 4-0 lead, and from then on he was all but impenetrable again on throw, only losing the throw once more but recovered in some style, with a 160 to go 9-6 in front before a first dart D18 sent Snackpot packing. It is bewildering why Hogan has never been on either the BDO or PDC circuit full-time as he is more than capable of competing on them.

Elsewhere today, Mark Webster didn't gain revenge for his Worlds defeated to Daryl Gurney as the real Superchin won with ease, Alan Norris relieved early pressure from Benito van de Pas as he reeled off six straight legs from 5-4 down, Raymond van Barneveld eased to victory over Ron Meulenkamp and Peter Wright's quest for his first ever major continues as Dave Chisnall blew 7 darts to make it 6-7 and didn't win another leg.

And we end the middle day of the UK Open with Barry Lynn's record intact: he remains the sole amateur qualifier to make it to the final day of the competition after Paul Hogan's dream run was ended by the worst person possible in Gerwyn Price. Crocodile Dundee's cursed D8 did him again in the third leg and despite fighting back from 5-1 down, the 4 leg deficit was just too much for him to overcome. After this weekend, Hogan becoming a regular TV competitor wouldn't be a bad thing.

Elsewhere, Michael Smith's immaturity continues to ruin his TV game as he blew 6 darts to level it at 7-7 and then promptly gave up, giving Alan Norris an easy victory. Joe Cullen and Kim Huybrechts shared 7 ton plus finishes but the Rockstar failed to capitalise on his own 5-1 lead and allowed Kimbo to pull it to a deciding leg that the Belgian won. Peter Wright's maiden TV title quest is still on after he easily defeated a spirited Rob Cross, who is certainly destined for bigger things; his reward is a meeting with Raymond van Barneveld, who dispatched Alan Tabern back to St. Helens.
