Players lost motivation and were obviously upset with Mourinho. They essentially just threw a tantrum until he got fired. Not that Mourinho wasn't somewhat at fault, but it was way bigger than just him.

Mourinho gave the players a longer vacation to reward them for winning the title. Half of them came back out of shape, most notably Hazard, Matic, Costa, and Fabregas. Then for whatever reason they threw a collective tantrum.

1. Extended holiday. Players came out of it in a not-so-good shape.

2. Shit transfer window. Pedro was the only good buy but Baba Rahman was a attacking minded fullback who is shit at defending. Falcao's career was seemingly finished.

3. Jose's starting XI. Oscar is shit. Ivanovic is shit. Terry is old. Mourinho is too loyal to his players at times and the team gets shit performances from this fact.

4. Hazard was injured but Jose kept playing him. By December, the memes got to him and he became crushed. Confidence-wise he was at his worst. Costa was left with no real service after teams realised pressing Cesc eliminates his threat.

Jose is simply not fit for long-term management and his refusal to make changes when met with a problem proved it to Abramovich, costing him the job for the second and probably last time.

If Hazard and co. DID step out of line, then Jose was a coward for not benching them or forcing them to play with U-23s. Conte doesn't take shit from his players.

mou is a one-trick pony who gets exposed after a few seasons. it will happen at united, if you don;t consider spending all that money and being 6th exposed already.
