Why do fighters always bench press with these rubber bands?
>>74460961
The point of bands is that the resistance is heavier at the strongest point of the movement (top) and lightest at the weakest point (bottom) thus leading to a more even stress on the muscles responsible for it.
Why "fighters always" do it I don't know.
I've heard it helps with "explosiveness" but I'm not really sure what that means
Also nice 1pl8 bench fuckin loser
>1pl8
why does he have his thumbs like that
always found that very awkward

How much does that weigh
>>74461154
40kg
>>74461154
60kg if you count the bar.
Why not just put on more weight instead of having a rubber band there

>counting the bar

Not only fighters, plenty of powerlitfers train with bands too.
>>74461264
because they only want to gradually increase weight/resistance in the final moments of the lift

>suicide grip

>>74461243
That's basically my natural strength starting weight wtf
>>74461375
the guy is probably just making a demonstration or warming-up
but the idiot doesn't put his thumb around the bar so it's still terrible

Bands can add quite a bit of weight.
Chains on barbells do the same thing, adding elastic resistance. As more links lift off the ground, more weight is added to the bar so the muscles get exercised throughout the motion instead of just at the beginning/middle.
