How come they only won 1 super bowl?
They reinvented the game.
Brady didn't even do anything and he won 5.
these guys reinvent defense, which "win championships" and only get the one.
life isnt fair bros.
>>
massive ped use
>>
>>74458602
Every player is on PEDs.
>>
>>74458596
Also refs started calling Defensive holding much more frequently after their owl win
>>
>>74458628

That was their whole strategy. Dan Quinn took it to Atlanta with him and you could see it in action during the Owl.

If it looks like the receiver has a good chance at catching the ball you grab and you hold and you dare the refs to throw the flag.
>>
>>74458596

how did they "reinvent" defense
>>
>>74458596
The fact that they went and became champions based on a strong defensive secondary is pretty impressive though.
>>
They were one of the best one year dynasties in football. Will be remembered alongside the Greatest show on turf as one of the most dominant teams to only win one owl before getting killed by Brady.
>>
>>74458946
>based on a strong defensive secondary
Their front 7 was stacked too, with Bennett, Avril, Wagner, KJ Wright and Irvin.

And the offense (8th in scoring) had some talent too - Wilson, Lynch, Tate, Baldwin, Unger.

They were simply stacked top to bottom.
>>
>>74458972
True, that defense was elite when they won the owl.
The offense was only good because of how elite that defense was.
>>
>>74459009

the offense was 9th in the league in yards per play

how is that thanks to the defense.
>>
>>74458596
Too many niggers. Why is Africa a complete shithole when it has the best farmland on Earth, the most steady climate and by far the most natural resources? Niggers.
>>
>>74459107
More TOP. If the offense is on the field more, they're gonna produce more. That's in large part of the defense stopping teams in short drives.
>>
They're not retired yet.
>>
>>74459548
Yards per play, not total yards. TOP if anything has an inverse correlation to YPP. Try again.
>>
>>74459191
i talked to an african about this. he said they are almost spoiled because you can just walk outside and grab some bananas and have food for a day. no reason be motiavated, african time, etc.
>>
>>74458596
No runs no rings.
>>
>>74458596
I remember telling a delusional xeahawks fan after the superbowl that Brady and the Patriots cemented their dynasty by destroying theirs. He didn't believe me at the time, he said something to the effect of "we can still win 3 in 4, or 3 in 5!" Well, little 12, if you are still out there and you remember that thread, how did that work out for you?
>>
At least they have one, most stacked Seattle teams couldn't even do that.

That guy is right, hes just not articulating the point very well.

Their offense benefited from their defense. They almost always played ahead. Russell Wilson just played his first NFL action from down 10+points this last season. The defense has always kept them close or in the lead.
Combine that with Marshawn Lynch's dominance in years past and its no surprise they were so effective on offense, particularly in play action passes. Wilson isn't a bad quarterback, but hes more like Dak than Brees or Brady.
>>
>>74467411
I guess what I'm trying to say is their team plays well rounded football, so they are never in predictable situations on offense. Not many teams can say that - even the patriots.
>>
>>74458596
Sustained success is really hard, even the Brady patriots nearly went 10 years without an owl.

Going to back to back owls is an extremely impressive feat and almost won the second one.

2015 they had a really slow start, they were probably the hottest team in the second half.

2016 they were screwed by wilson's injury when his mobility normally negates their awful offensive line.

They're still a really good team and can get back to an owl, they've won a playoff game in 5 straight seasons. Wilson's become a really fucking good passer as time has went on.

If they get homefield they're pretty much guaranteed to come out of the NFC.

matt ryan threw 6 touchdowns in those two games. I don't see how that's Wilson's fault since he doesn't play defense.

That's not what dynasty means.
>>
Legion of whom?
>>
>>74458596
Tbf, the Patriots almost always have a really good scoring defense. Also, Seattle still has a shot at another few in the coming years.
>>
Seattle literally only needs 3 more players to be super bowl contenders again
A mediocre left tackle, a mediocre right tackle, and a rookie CB3 to take over for Lane and play CB2 while Shead recovers

that's it
>>
>>74472318

That's true. However....

Average points allowed per playoff game in Superbowl winning runs, for every QB who won multiple Superbowls:

18.5 ppg - Brady (2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016)
17.6 ppg - Roethlisberger (2005, 2008)
15.6 ppg - Peyton Manning (2006, 2015)
15.1 ppg - Eli Manning (2007, 2011)
15.0 ppg - Starr (1966, 1967)
14.8 ppg - Elway (1997, 1998)
13.5 ppg - Bradshaw (1974, 1975, 1977, 1978)
12.7 ppg - Plunkett (1980, 1983)
12.4 ppg - Montana (1981, 1984, 1988, 1989)
11.8 ppg - Griese (1972, 1973)
9.0 ppg - Aikman (1992, 1993, 1995)
6.8 ppg - Staubach (1971, 1977)

And before you say it, adjusted for era:

18.0 ppg - Brady (2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016)
17.4 ppg - Roethlisberger (2005, 2008)
15.1 ppg - Peyton Manning (2006, 2015)
14.8 ppg - Elway (1997, 1998)
14.7 ppg - Bradshaw (1974, 1975, 1978, 1979)
14.5 ppg - Starr (1966, 1967)
14.4 ppg - Eli Manning (2007, 2011)
12.6 ppg - Plunkett (1980, 1983)
12.6 ppg - Montana (1981, 1984, 1988, 1989)
12.5 ppg - Griese (1972, 1973)
9.6 ppg - Aikman (1992, 1993, 1995)
7.8 ppg - Staubach (1971, 1977)

Browner is the only thing that stopped that 6'5 Literally Who from scoring another two or three touchdowns. Browner stuffed the rub route that would have delayed Butler on the INT.

When will you mouth breathers fucking learn?

>The Seahawks were 7-2 in their first nine playoff games under Carroll, but they’re 2-3 since encountering the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Because Tom Brady literally and indiscriminately kills any team he comes across.

>There may be no greater example in recent history than the Indianapolis Colts, who appeared to be building something real by the time the Patriots unleashed a 45-7 hellfire assault in the 2014 AFC Championship Game. The Colts have since been exposed for helping spawn Deflategate, and the bottom has fallen out. Indianapolis has gone 8-8 in back-to-back seasons and has been shut out of the playoffs since qualifying from 2012-14.

>The Baltimore Ravens have also fallen into a rut since the Pats axed them with a pair of 14-point comebacks in the 2014 divisional round. In two seasons since, the Ravens are 13-19, including coach John Harbaugh’s career-worst 5-11 in 2015.

this, the indy game was absolutely brutal. it must be so bad to get so close to the superb owl and get absolutely torn to shreds

So are the Bronco's the only exception to this where after they got demolished by the Patriots in Foxborough they went on to become much better and eventually win the owl?
>>
>>74477465

He's only won one Super Bowl.
>>
>>74466578

It was a great play by Browner and Butler.
Butler gets much of the credit because he didn't simply defend the pass he intercepted it.

Just an amazing play and read by both...
>>
>>74458596
>they only won 1 super bowl
And they cheated way harder than the Patriots to win that one, and that's saying something.
