Jazz game perfectly illustrated it. When they shoot well from three and the defense doesn't commit to the shooters, they blow out their opponents because Westbrook creates so many open looks.

In the second half their three point shooting went bad again and the Jazz got back into the game by just sticking to the original strategy and keeping Westbrook from the rim, until the end when Westbrook shot well again and the help defender stuck to McDermott as Westbrook got layups beating his man one on one and in transition.

I think after watching that Jazz game future defenses will leave shooters open even when they're shooting well just to stop Westbrook from winning the game himself and test just how good McDermott, Abrines, and Oladipo are despite the averages.
