Either Romo or Garropolo. I don't give a fuck just as long as Bork isn't starting. And yeah yeah, I know Romo is a choker and is oft injured, but if he could fucking make it to the regular season for the Texans, it would be a welcome change at QB.

Not sure. Haven't looked closely enough at the prospects. Will probably have a better idea after the combine. I'd be fine if they took a good safety or ILB in the first round, though. Hell, even a good O-lineman to eventually replace Duane Brown would be fine.

thomas isn't a bad pick really, especially since adams might go earlier depending on TEN and JAX. i think mcdowell would be an overdraft there though, he's not as versatile as thomas.

overall you can't really go wrong at 7, and the chargers are a better team than their draft spot, so an impact player like adams or thomas could put them right into playoff contention next year

his size is the only reason he's not rated higher. he can play pretty much anywhere on the line, he's extremely strong and overall very athletic, and he's a force in the run game as well as a great pass rusher.

not to mention that he played very well in his bowl game and made the game-winning play. recency bias is very real in the draft process

Why would you drastically overpay for a 27 year old with PEDs and an injury history?

He'll be 32 by the time Wentz is good enough to carry

Eaglesfags need to learn to use FA for stopgaps instead of premier talent, you guys have some garbage contracts you have to deal with right now
>>
>>74412711
I've never been sold on Mahomes or any TTU QB for that matter. Neither Mike Leach or sweet mac daddy Kliff Kingsbury have produced anything resembling a top caliber QB. The last time there was hype like this for a TTU QB, it was Graham Harrell, and he ended up undrafted and fell off the face of the earth. The same fate for other air raid passers. Colt Brennan (they said he had elite measurables), Chang (Ching Chang Chong muh passing records), Graham Harrell (Michael Crabtree and the O-line that averaged 6-8 360 lbs), that's just some recent ones that come to mind right now. Nate Peterman is the guy. I liked Kaaya, but his leadership ability has been severely questioned, Watson is an asshat, Trubisky would be a wet dream situation for those in NE Ohio because of him being a local boy, Kizer is just a prototype size babby. I like Davis Webb, but he falls in with Mahomes, air raid babbies. Nate Peterman will be the real hidden gem.
>>
>>74413387
>Why would you drastically overpay for a 27 year old with PEDs and an injury history?

if anything that will hurt his leverage in Free agency, he's coming off a low point, buy low.

>He'll be 32 by the time Wentz is good enough to carry

eagles aren't going to give him a 10 year deal.
>>
>Buccaneers, Cardinals and Chargers would seem to be the best landing spots for Nick Mangold right now

Hmmm
>>
>>74413387
the eagles won't sign him if he wants a ridiculous deal. for one thing we don't even have the cap space, and we have other people/positions we need to sign. i'm okay with paying a reasonable amount for a great red zone and possession receiver who dropped one pass all last season.

having a receiver corps where nelson agholor isn't the #2 receiver will also help wentz's development significantly imo
>>
>>74408064
What's the deal with Davis Webb? I never heard of him before like a couple weeks ago.
>>
>>74413982
Was a Texas Tech QB and got injured his junior year, losing his job to Pat Mahomes. He had good numbers. Ended up transferring to Cal where he put up a great senior season. He played for the South in the annual Senior Bowl where he did well and supposedly really impressed the Browns coaching staff (they coached the South team), especially Hue Jackson, which is why I figure they'll take a chance on him in a later round.

Graham Harrell always had a weak arm. Mahomes can sling accurate 60 yard bombs while on the run.

Mahomes has all the physical tools to make it in the NFL. The real concern with him is the fact that he's injury prone, and suffers from the same tendencies as RGIII in exposing himself to unnecessary contact for minimal gain.

Mahomes' draft stock has actually gone UP since he declared because scouts are beginning to see how naturally talented he is, where as most Air Raid QBs tend to fall in draft status following eligibility since all their flaws float to the surface without the Air Raid system covering them up.

Mahomes is RGIII 2.0. If a team can properly teach him to slide, and not run him in to the ground with retarded option plays, he could become everything RGIII was capable of behind the injuries.

>>
>>74418142
Dunno, but it's being reported he won't be hit with franchise tag again. He's been injured a lot the last two seasons and productivity has been disproportionate to his pay. Still a great reciever tho, if he gets healthy he can be pretty good yet.

>>
>>74418158
Yeah he's definitely been overpaid, but imo (which I admit is still a bit fresh) the Bears are desperate for a star player that Jeffery can be. What's the point in a new franchise QB if he has nobody to throw to?

>>74418160
>mfw Pace and Fox draft a QB in order to buy another two seasons of job security under the guise of "developing" a new star
>>
>>74418142
Jeffery is supposedly lazy and when you combine that with the peds and injury issues, the bears are probably just fed up.

They are also probably still thinking they still have something in Kevin White is my guess.

the bears need a lot so I can't exactly fault them for letting Jeffery go.
>>
>>74417305
On that logic, a guy like Brock Osweiler should be Elite. Dan McGwire would be in the HoF. Brandon Weeden would be great. The list goes on. A tall, big bodied QB may have a better chance at being a decent QB in the NFL, but it hardly guarantees success.

But since Shanahan GIFTED the Patriots the Superbowl with his inexplicable brain-fart from hell passing calls, the headline suddenly changed from Tom Brady blew another Superbowl to Tom Brady is the GOAT. >>
>>74427082
And Wentz couldn't beat out Chase Daniel or Bradford before the season began
>>
>>74427113
sam bradford is an average NFL starting QB who had been in the offense before. wentz was a rookie coming out of an FCS school. the fact that he was able to step in and finish with the same record as bradford with as little experience as he had, especially since he missed pretty much all of the preseason with an injury, says a lot. meanwhile goff couldn't beat out a candidate for worst starting QB in the league and went winless once he did win the job.
>>
>>74427125
Your defense going from one of the worst in the league to top 10 had more to do with that record being the same than the offense
>>
Now that the dust has finally settled, was Tim Tebow a decent QB? Why did the NFL hate him so much? Barely got a chance to play after Denver.
>>
>>74427149
i mean the offense played a pretty big part in the defense's improvement. the team's time of possession improved from 32nd in 2015, with sam bradford, to 1st in the league in 2016 with wentz.
he regressed towards the end of the season, but it didn't help that his WRs were a bottom 3 unit in the league, and the running game was very inconsistent, not to mention the suspension of the best RT in the NFC. when lane johnson started in 2016, the eagles were 6-1.

The only problem with the Seahawks last season was that they lost Earl Thomas.

But he'll be back next season. They'll go to shit the moment he leaves the team for good but the defense will continue to be elite until then.
>>
Atlanta went 6-4 outside of their babby division, can the rest of the AFC South stop being trash already?

Their window is wide open. They were on pace for a first round bye until Earl Thomas and Tyler Lockett got hurt. There's no juggernaut in the NFC. They won't have much turn over this year. They've got a bunch of draft picks and some cash on hand too. Franchise QB. Good Head Coach. Good defense. I don't see how they've melted down. Not every team can go to the Super Bowl every year. Just have to give yourself a shot each year.

>Carson Wentz's name keeps coming up. Speaking with league insiders in preparation for the start of free agency (March 9, 4 p.m.), it has become clear that there are several free-agent wide receivers drawn to the idea of playing for the Philadelphia Eagles because of Wentz, the second-year quarterback out of North Dakota State.

>Money is king, obviously. You won't find many players who will leave the best offer on the table if it is significantly sweeter than the rest. But if it's close, other priorities come into play, and quality of quarterback is typically number two on a receiver's list. The reason is obvious enough: the wide receiver position is heavily dependent on the quarterback. The better the QB, the better chance the receiver has of meeting his potential, which in turn increases his value and odds of success. That's basic logic. What's of note here is that Wentz is considered, at least in some circles, as one of those performance-enhancing signal-callers.

Great news for Eric Berry

Cousins is likely getting tagged in preperation for a trade like Matt Cassel was. I think if Washington likes another QB in the draft they will pull the trigger now since they can build around him a bit more and since they have a new OC anyway
>>
>>74431744
I'm starting to think Washington doesn't even know how they're going to handle this.

They're in a tricky spot because their roster might not be good enough to contend even with Cousins, and his contract would make it even harder to build one, really their best move might be dealing Cousins to a team like the niners for a lot of draft capital but I don't think the current regime can survive a down year or two.

Might not be terrible for them to spend some like in 2014 for Revis and Browner on one-two year deals. I think Brady will be closer to his 2014-2015 version than 2016 version, Which is still really good but just a little drop off.

I thought about it but there really aren't that many FAs who'd be looking for a short term "prove it" deal like Revis'.

I'm sorry, but did the Chargers already lose? Oh, that's right. The game isn't even over yet. In fact, it's only halftime. Does not having the lead at halftime count as a loss? Is that what you're saying? Because if you're saying that I can assure you that you're wrong. Why would you make this topic when the game is still on? The Chargers are still playing right now and they have been the best team in the AFC West for how many years now? They're playing one of the worst teams in the NFL who just happen to have a lead because they're feeding off the energy of playing in a Monday Night Game. But you know what? They still fucking suck. The Chargers are one of the best fucking teams in the NFL, they went 13-3 last year and would of won the Super Bowl if the kicker didn't choke. Maybe you should shut the fuck up before you make retarded topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when the Chargers wins and someone bumps this topic. Oh look at that, the Chiefs just stepped out of bounds short of the 1st down when they needed to get one, just like the Jets did. Are you a fucking drunk? Are you retarded? Are you autistic? You are a fucking idiot and you should never make a topic on this board again and I'm fucking serious. I almost have a feeling you're the only guy making all these anti-Chargers topics because you're a faggot hater who doesn't like the team because they're good. Fuck you, be good at something in YOUR life and then maybe try to troll these fucking teams on the board, like I give a fuck. It's so easy to spot out your threads now, you're a retard. Always doing stupid shit like this. Why don't you try to be a good poster? Just for once? For once in your fucking life try not to make a topic like this. That's just you, you're always right at getting it wrong. Fuck you. You are nothing.

Now that's some excellent preparation!
>>
>>74434753
honestly i agree
i put him up there more reluctantly than any other player i had
all the analysts say he is a great corner and the best on the market, but i have never seen anything above good/solid from him
almost every bills game i watch i see a handful of easily correctable mistakes from him that end up costing the team crucial first downs and often massive yardage
johnson has a great set of skills but you wonder how much of that was him looking good shutting down #2 wrs with janoris taking on the #1's
i liked a lot from what i saw from Bouye this year, but i really didn't see a whole lot of his stuff so the lack of film has me apprehensive
>>
>>74435044
they won't tag him again it will be like 34 million. They better hope they can work out a deal cuz if he can't he'll leave and sign with the niners next year. No reason for he niners to trade with the redskins

>>
>>74435251
i mean AD is getting older, has no rings or any playoff success, in a league where RBs arent valued like they were 8 years ago, in a year where the draft class at RB is absolutely absurdly deep
he could sign a one year veteran minimum contract or something just to ring chase and play for his childhood dream team

its very wildly unlikely but honestly i could see it happening

>>74435266
It doesn't really make sense though, because AP isn't as good as Zeke in pass protection so whenever AP is brought in it'd be pretty much signaling we're giving him the ball.

AP would be best off in a legarette blount role in a rotation with another back.
>>
>>74435291

He's a safety that lines up on the line of scrimmage.

He has gone into man coverage though, so he's the closest.
>>
>>74435299

I'm expecting him to come back and drag 7 defenders off the field.

Everytime I though he was done he came back in did that shit. I have no reason to believe he wont again. I don't know if he's human.

>>74435266
it's not about what AP wants though, he has no leverage. signing him would just divy up carries even further which is not something their rushing offense needs at all. not to mention that whatever he would cost is still more than the cowboys can afford right now, they have like 6 million in cap space.

there are playoff teams that AP could go to and have a good year and make sense with. dallas is not one of them
>>
>>74435319
but wasnt weddle like one of brady's only interceptions this season?

and weddle actually had a pretty solid year for an aging defensive back.
>>
>>74435299
i agree 100%
but the logistics of the match fit very well even if the scheme doesnt fit at all
AD loves dallass and jerruh
he wants a ring, dallas is a legit contender
he gets to play in a culture i think he would fit well in
and most importantly it would get a fuck ton of asses in the seats at JerryWorld and tons of eyes on them every sunday
like i said, extremely unlikely
but there is evidence for it being within the realm of possibility
>>
>>74435324
i honestly dont see the problem with divvying up the carries though
i mean he is young and healthy back who is the face of your franchise right now
why would you want to run him into the dirt after 4 years
keep him fresh not only through the season but through his career, zeke seems like a good fit on the boys and i could see him playing for a decade with them
>>
>>74435044
>washington football team

Stop.
>>
>>74435357
but you already have alfred morris, a former pro bowl back with less mileage than AP and probably for cheaper, to split carries with zeke, not to mention the designed running plays for dak.

you only get the ball so many times a game, and the cowboys are already paying 3 players to carry the ball more than anyone in the NFL if last year is a good indication of things. it makes infinitely more sense to pay darren mcfadden pennies to be the 3rd string back than it does to pay AP to displace morris to the 3rd string
