This afternoon was a real watershed moment for all involved in Welsh rugby. The enormity of the task we have ahead of us is becoming apparent and there's no quick fix. Not only do we need to find coaches capable of developing an attacking structure, improving our lineout, improving basic skills and improving our maul we need to find players with the ability to execute.

When we lost in Murrayfield in 2007 it was fucking miserable, but at least we had reason to be optimistic. We had Adam Jones, and Gethin Jenkins, and AWJ, and Shane Williams, and Gavin Henson, all with their best years ahead of them. It just so happened we had a maniac as our coach but the solution to the problem was easy. Sack the idiot in a French car park and hire a Kiwi in his place. We don't have that solution any more. Sacking the coaches will solve some of the problem but we don't have an Adam Jones or a Gethin Jenkins. We have Tom Francis and Rob Evans. I mean, fuck me, nobody is going to turn that front 5 into world cup semi finalists.

I can't even begin to see how we'll improve in the next few years. We might as well get used to losing 4 games a season.

Rob Evans and Nicky Smith are decent props. They aren't going to be the next Viet Gwent but they can definitely do a job. Owens, Parry and Elias are decent hookers.
