I was watching the '97 Daytona 500 during the offseason and I was really amazed by how great the racing was despite lots of it being single-file.

They forced a late model support series to park behind the stands in a Pinty's Series race because they didn't want the TV cameras to see a rival class putting on a better show.

I've been penalized for not touching a guy and him spinning on his own, then given the pole for the next race as compensation.

Family members are allowed to be race officials/tech inspectors, obviously give leeway or design the rulebook around their children/relatives. This is pretty normal at family owned tracks.

Threatened to be fined/suspended for calling out officials in post-race interviews for allowing shitty drivers to go out and wreck everybody (being a lippy asshole landed me a major sponsor so joke's on them).

No drug/alcohol testing. Personally I'd like to see them do it every weekend as we're always doing shit for kids/families and it's shady knowing how many people are stoned.

We had a yellow line rule for one event because "we just painted it for nascar and want it to look nice for Saturday."
