>FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Logan Schoenhardt, the terminally ill 10-year-old fan whose connection with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was profiled on ESPN's E:60 in December, died Monday night.

>Schoenhardt, of Connecticut, had been diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was 3. As he underwent multiple surgeries, radiation treatments and rounds of chemotherapy over the next six years, his passion for the Patriots and Brady provided him happiness.

>"He knows he's never going to play football, which he would dearly love to do. So he lives through them, especially Brady," Jo Schoenhardt, Logan's mother, said in the E:60 feature.

>The Patriots passed along their condolences with a post on Twitter and a statement from team owner Robert Kraft.

Rest in peace

He hung on just long enough to watch Brady pull off the greatest comeback in NFL history

Oh, the Patriots downturn is coming. Same with Pittsburgh. Basically, the teams that had the ELITE QBs and dominated the playoffs for over 15 years will watch those QBs retire. Then the NFL will enter a dark age of nothing but spread QBs trying to master a certain type of offense. In turn, coaching philosophies will need to change. An influx of new coaches will prompt posts of "Literally who?" As the spread offense becomes less and less of a meme and more of the SOP. Once in a blue moon, a pro-style QB will pop up and be good, but the entire landscape is changing, just be prepared.

The spread offense was in its infancy then. Now it's the norm and what is coached at every level from pee-wee football, thru Jr high, HS, college, and now it's beginning to take shape in the NFL. It's only a matter of time. The NFL has had to adapt in the past when a new pervasive form of scheme comes along. People once joked that the forward pass was a meme and would never catch on, then Paul Brown introduced what would turn into the West Coast offense (perfected and tuned by Bill Walsh, Brown's protege). It was considered a gimmick offense. I know it might be hard to accept at first. Nobody likes change, but the wheels of progress cannot be stopped.

Aaron Rodgers is basically an anime girl
nice, harmless but incredibly self centered.
he even has a Mary Sue thing going on with being near perfect on a superficial level and his major adversity being poor luck.
not too mention major feminine elements of his personality, although he has some pretty intense masculine elements such as absurd resolve and persistence.

basically he's an incredibly talented but hapless anime tomboy with moderate confidence issues that "he" (she) trys to cover up with a half sincere cocksure attitude, which is match with godly resolve.

I'd go tubing in the Oroville Dam spillway if it meant Kaepernick wouldn't return to the 49ers.
>>
>>74225653
The wildcat is just a single play set, the spread is an entire offense. Big difference. The type of QB so coveted in the NFL is getting rare to the point of extinction. It's easy to see based on what teams are willing to pay even mediocre veterans at this point just due to their experience in a specific style of play. The newer crops of QBs are less and less experienced in complicated reads, line calls, play changes, looking off defenders, etc. They just aren't coached that way anymore because the spread read offense doesn't need it.
>>
>>74225726
Looks fun tbqh senpai
>>
>>74225653
And it's going to come down to more small college QBs getting a shot (as some of those schools still run a pro-style, especially at Div II or FCS). Which actually isn't a bad thing, it's just the next evolution. Everything changes at some point. You can't stop it, you can't fight it, all can do is accept it, adapt, and move forward.

90.7 rating

not knocks my sock off stats but did he actually play that well or do the numbers lie?

numbers

>>74225737
I'll believe it when I see it. There are still plenty of young quartebacks able to pick up pro offenses. Mariota had a lot more on his plate in year 2 when everyone was saying he'd be limited because of his spread offense background. There might be a bigger learning curve but the limitations of the spread offense won't give teams that rely on it a competitive edge.

Never said it was impossible to learn, but you're going to find less that do now as opposed to 10-15 years ago when college offenses were still primarily running offenses more akin to the pro style. Even NFL scouts have admitted that just evaluating QBs now is more of a challenge than it has ever been.
>>
>>74225573

Bill here, taking offers on Gronkowski, give me your best shot.

Deals involving 7th round picks, players from Rutgers and overlooked white 3rd stringers will be taken into extra consideration
>>
>>74225934
I agree that it's harder to evaluate qbs, and there will be more busts but the jump in competition from the college game to pro game is enormous.

a lot of successful college programs can win games in simple systems because there's a huge gap in talent between some teams.

a spread offense won't have sustained success on a pro level.
>>
>>74225179

F
>>
Is David Johnson the best offensive weapon in the NFL right now?
>>
>>74226088
yes
>>
>>74225967

FA: unusual deal from the Pats will send Gronkowski to the 16 worst teams in the league for one game each over the next NFL regular season in exchange for all 16 of those teams 7th round draft picks.
>>
>>74225995
I don't see any evidence to the contrary that it won't. Speed of defensive linemen isn't a factor here because offensive lines exist.
>>
>>74225967

>trading Gronk

Too crazy even for Bill
>>
>>74226118
Unless you are a cam newton tier genetic freak most qbs can't run through defenders and the ones that try get hurt a lot.

its not just the defensive linemen, every player on the defense in the pro game is faster.
>>
>>74226127
Haha yeah, not even Bill would trade pro bowlers like Vinatieri, Collins, Mankins, Welker or Gronkowski, those guys are untouchable
>>
>>74225822
He couldn't complete passes in the second halfs of games. He played scared to protect his numbers. He can't go through a progression amd just run if the first guy isn't open. He has no accuracy and when it happens to be accurate he throws a 5 yard pass 90mph. He fucking sucks.
>>
hmm
>>
>have two big body receivers everybody says are great
>Ted Ginn is still the best receiver on the team
when will people realize Kelvin Benjamin sucks?
>>
>>74226174
And those are the type of QBs that will thrive in the systems that implement the spread. That's my whole point. There just aren't many pocket passers around anymore, and they'll be moving towards extinction in the future. Either teams will go through turmoil trying to teach multiple spread QBs to run a "traditional" pro-style, or they'll slowly adapt the spread into their game plan until it eventually takes over as a primary offense. That's how the NFL has evolved. Basically you're saying any creativity died in the 1980s and they are never going to change again.
>>
>>74225394
Packers need a linebacker
>>
>>74226187

We had replacements for all of those. Gronk and Brady can't be replaced.
>>
>>74225394
I'm still holding hope that Fournette will still be around and the Panthers pick him
Stewarts getting old and they'll need a replacement soon
>>
>>74226259
Eyeing a few replacements in the 5th or 6th round, need to stock up on picks so 1 can trade down and get him and still have enough 7th rounders to fill out the defensive back depth.

Whats your offer? and it better not end in "pending a physical"
>>
>>74226238
the only two ILBs i think deserve to go in the first round were gone by that point
>>74226277
i think that's the most likely outcome really, i just got bored of mocking that.

it's one of those scenarios that fits ridiculously well, since the panthers rely on their power running game and a talent like fournette is only magnified with the threat of newton in the backfield
>>
>>74225394
>7. Reuben Foster, LB, Chargers

I'm kind of sour on him, too, with the news of his surgery.
>>
>>74226303

Nothing. We have Gronk under contract for a song and he's already fully trained in the Pats offense. I'd rather have Gronk for 8 games than anyone else for 16
>>
>>74226229
>And those are the type of QBs

who? cam newton? Cam Newton is an outlier. You say pocket passers are scarce but guys with his combination of speed and size are really really fucking rare. Cam's mvp season was also, not by coincidence, his best season by FAR as a pocket passer. He was always a freak, but he put together his whole game which was the difference.

>There just aren't many pocket passers around anymore

we've just seen derek carr break out and as a result the raiders went 12-4. Pocket Passers WIN which is why they won't be going away. They give the competitive edge teams need. a pocket passer just won mvp, and a pocket passer just won a super bowl. Pocket Passers will be stay out of NECESSITY to win.

There are certainty elements of the spread offense being incorporated but it's been that way for a few years. It will never be the primary offense though for a good team due to it's limitations. I mean the patriots offense is so diverse they are able to do about anything. Limiting yourself to one type of offense because it's easy for your rookie to learn won't work once teams have enough film on them.
>>
Heh, the Chargers' ticket prices for the upcoming season is actually more expensive than the Rams' tickets.

>The Los Angeles Chargers released season ticket prices for their first season at the StubHub Center. It is easily the smallest NFL stadium seating only 30,000 people. The small supply of seats is reflected in the pricing. In fact, the Chargers’ most expensive seat which clocks in at $375 per game is $150 more than the most expensive seat at a Rams game.

?Tickets will actually start at $70 and the average price of a ticket will be $192. That is significantly more than the average price of a Rams game which came out to $104. The Rams, of course, have a seating capacity more than triple that of the Chargers.

Agreed about Jimmy G and AJ McCarron. Not a lot of work to validate them or discredit them. He'll definitely be a starter. Here is another scenario: if Cleveland is absolutely in love with Hooker as a talent or Jamal Adams and they aren't gone by the top 8, does Cleveland trade up? If so, what do they give up?

>>74226722
you mean would they trade up with the bengals or bills? i'd assume that kind of swap would involve switching firsts (in this case #12) and probably a mid-round pick, 3rd or 4th. seems a little anti-moneyball though, and i think it's decently likely that a top 2 corner will fall to them at #12. maybe they even entertain the idea of trubisky if a jimmy for 2nd round pick trade doesn't get done.

>>74226722
Not really anti-moneyball persay. Still grabbing a top young talent when the pick is right. For example, the Indians took a shot on a former #1 overall draft pick from the previous year who got injured and the contract offer was pulled (thus making him eligible for the draft next season). He underwent tommy John surgery. He was projected to be an 80 (ELITE tier prospect with top ceiling and high measurables), 19 years old, a future ace. Even with the surgery and recovery still to come, they drafted him 13 overall instead of letting him fall to another team because of the value he has. Sure, they could have drafted someone else, fully healthy, that filled a bigger need down the road, but that's the beauty of building like a baseball team, no position can be overlooked, no just filling in the gaps, if a high prospect is there, regardless of players already in place or other "needs", take the pick. Any chance to make an upgrade can't be overlooked. A fluid roster, nothing set in stone. If that draft pick becomes a top player after a year or so, ditch the other guy for more picks or cap space.

i understand, but i think in terms of overall team building it would be better to get lattimore or someone at #12 and then get someone like budda baker in the second. for a team with as many holes as the browns i don't think giving up the mid round pick is the best idea right now.

>>
>>74226889
I'm not saying they shouldn't got for Lattimore or Tabor, just saying they may not be there and the QBs could plummet due to the lack of sheer talent. Of course some team may reach, but I find it hard that 3 of them will on the same position. That's unprecedented. I wouldn't be surprised if the better QB talent comes from the mid rounds in this draft (think Davis Webb from Cal who was great in his GT year at Cal, and did well at TTU until an ankle injury caused him to lose a season and eventually his spot to Mahomes. Kliff Kingsbury is a QB whisperer). I think Fournette will end up in the top 10 for sure (most mocks have him to Carolina). There will be trade ups and downs like every other year.

>>74226889

I don't except that argument, at all. It's an amateur league where RBs at the QB position have a lot more success than pocket passers. Of course Williams started.

he played very well in games I saw, but that was the bengals offense with hue jackson, aj green with sanu and marvin and eifert and a decent rb duo and a good offensive line. also that game was low scoring, he made what should have been the game winning throw though I'll admit.

I think Mccaron's ceiling is most likely Alex Smith/Andy Dalton tier of quarterbacks. You can win games with him but he'll be complimentary more so than a legit franchise qb. I don't really know what Jimmy G's ceiling is but Jimmy G was a much better prospect coming out of college and definitely has the better arm.

He got hurt. I liked Hoyer. I figured he was "our guy". The city loved him because he was a local boy, Pettine and Shanahan loved him as a leader, he was respected. Ray Farmer didn't like him. The entire front office wanted to draft a future ELITE. They drafted a drug addict with an ego because Jimmy Haslam and the chief of financial operations wanted to show they had "football knowledge". This pissed PLAY BETTER off and started to set off the chasm between him and the front office, then Kyle Shanahan walked away from it, then the coaching staff was at odds, Farmer started bringing in players that Pettine didn't like and the locker room just became a chaotic atmosphere with guys taking sides or just being selfish and looking ahead to future contracts with other teams. So...that was Hoyer's time in Cleveland

I wish Cleveland would bring him back to fill McCown's former role (mentor/backup). He could help Cody Kessler get better as they are similar style QBs and similar attitudes. He could also help any QB the Browns draft (PLEASE DAVIS WEBB). Unfortunately they'll probably sign Matt Schaub instead.

Hoyer was goddamn furious about the situation created by the FO drafting Manziel. I think he was under the impression that he was going to be the franchise QB and retire there. Then Haslam got antsy and once Hoyer was ready to return from injury, Pettine was forced to play Manziel and that was the beginning of the end.

>Rams RBs coach Skip Peete cited Todd Gurley's pass-protection ability as a skill Gurley must develop for his game to improve.
>Gurley left the field on most passing downs in favor of Benny Cunningham, a switch that telegraphed to the defense that the Rams were likelier to run with Gurley in the game. "This is going to blow your mind. ... I think the most important thing in this league, as far as a running back is concerned, is his ability to pass protect," said Peete, an 18-year RBs coach. "They think it’s easy. They’ve all come into the league comfortable as a runner." Cunningham is a free agent, setting up Gurley for an increased passing-game role and potentially improved rushing efficiency against lighter boxes if he can fine tune his pass blocking.

he played for the dolphins, a team thats won a super bowl
he played for the bears, a team thats won a super bowl
he played for the jets, a team thats won a super bowll

Eagles have NEVER won a super bowl ever despite being a million years old

The BROWNS have a more recent championship than the eagles

Every team in the eagle's division has 3 at minimum 3 more owls than they do.

They are the MOST cucked franchise in league history bar none.

why do you think reggie white got the hell out of there as fast as he could.

probably about the same I think. Falcons will have a hell of a hangover, division could be up for grabs.

SOS can be misleading, a lot can change now between looking at the schedule now and when you actually play the team.

Bucs need a few things to address, their running game and complimentary weapons to mike evans but the biggest thing is to see if their defense has really improved or was last year just a fluke.

Jameis is coming along slowly but surely.

We might be losing Martin if his drug problem is serious. We have Sims and J-Rodgers though. Glennon is probably gonna be a cardinal or Jet. Chris Conte put together some decent games late in the season after blowing coverage for a year and a half, but I still expect him to leave. Grimes is on the last year of his deal.

The biggest flaws are OL, DE, Safety, and WR. We don't really have a WR2 but we have a beastly slot receiver acting like one and we have Cameron Brate who is an above-average TE. We've been expecting McCoy to carry the entire DL for far too long and he can only beat so many double-teams.

The good news is a lot of our issues last year were due to lack of depth. When we were 100% healthy we looked like a competent football team but if a guy went down it would be an almost Achilles heel.
>>
>>74232853
Hmm bad year for OL in the draft so theyre just gonna have to suck it up like the eagles
Im sure theyll find some scrub to fill Glennons spot. hopefully they get their corners worked out, how was hargreaves?

DEs are a diamond dozen and theres a huge drop off on safeties in the draft. Im sure if they can get another WR for winston to throw to, they could have a decent team. Id put my money on them to take the NFC S if they can fix those holes, if not then Falcons are repeating

But why? Chargers are pretty stacked at ILB, even with the scheme change.
Jatavis Brown- WILL

>>
>>74233030
it wouldn't be remiss to take a guard or a center, especially if we do release kelce for some stupid reason. but it's no longer a position that we NEED to address, especially not early on.

first 3 rounds have to be some order of WR, CB, and RB.

They had two interior linemen on the IR, it was Kessler's rookie year, mccown is ancient and slow, and Rg3 sucks.

sacks a lot of the time are on the qb and not the offensive line, I didn't see cleveland play much but rg3 has always been a sack factory and rookies like kessler tend to hold on to the ball too long.

Just be aware the Cowboys already planned on keeping Romo at least all the way until the end of the 2017 season. No one expected Dak to take over this fast and it's very fortunate that he turned out to be the best QB in the draft. Cowboys have plenty of time to field offers for Romo
>>
>>74242541
No one is going to trade any more than a 5th for Romo, more likely a 6th or 7th. I think it's likely the Cowboys cut Romo, or keep him on for another year. This is literally the worst time to trade him from a marketing standpoint.
>>
>>74243682
>No one is going to trade any more than a 5th for Romo
this just isn't true. sam bradford went for a 1st last season.
> This is literally the worst time to trade him from a marketing standpoint.
why? this QB draft is horrible and kirk cousins is the only good QB on the market
>>
>>74243692
Bradford was a kind of last minute/desperation move, I don't see something like that happening again unless a QB goes down really close to season opener.

The QB market isn't great, but Romo hasn't played a full game in 2 years. Yeah he had a nice drive against the Eagles, but any team reaching for him has to factor that he's more likely to get injured than not.

Also, he's a short term solution, so that limits him from teams in rebuild mode looking for a long term QB. I could be wrong, but I don't see it happening.

it's just a personal choice that I think is pretty self-evident in logic. IRL I know quite a few adult friends and family who wear jerseys and I dont think any less of them because of it, however this is 4chan and insinuating peoples masculine inferiority is one of my favorite pastimes.
>>
>>74246745

>>74246787

I'm insinuating that branding yourself with another mans name is figuratively cucked, for a lack of a better word.
keep in mind that most of these people would abandon your team for a marginally small increase in pay and some would even trash talk your team while doing it.

Based Driver being an exception.
