I watched some Stockton games, 1988 against the Lakers in the playoffs and against Mavs era Jason Kidd.

It's was exactly the same. But half of them came from Malone making quick shots in the post and some other teammates with hook shots and layups.

There was almost no three point shooting to speak of and the big men in general were just more skilled than today.
As soon as they got the ball they knew a double team was coming so they'd make a quick shot and keep their hands high when receiving the pass.

Steven Adams is great but he puts his hands near his waste before he makes a move and smaller players hack him there and cause a TO, refs never call it, so you'd think at some point he'd stop.

And when he starts getting double teamed he takes too long to pass it, he's being too cautious before he passes and he just ends up getting smothered.
And when you're about to be double teamed in a deeper post position you need a quick move to get a shot off.
Adams doesn't have this. Kanter does.

As a OKC fan since day one.

I would like to warn Raptors fans Ibaka's not that great in modern day basketball with pace and space offensive systems.

He was a beast when tradition PF play was still common, lead the league in blocked shots, top defensive anchor, etc. But since making the transition from a regular PF to a stretch 4 from 2014 one (Since the Spurs and Heatles made the rest of the NBA wise up) he's had a lot of issues defending players on the perimeter and playing offense other than as a space maker on the corner three line sitting on a island, pick and pop mid range, trailer for Russ' drive and pass, put back misses on layups.

He's still leagues better than any PF the Raptors have had since Bosh and will push the team to a new level but not championship level.
Don't be mad if he doesn't live up to some hype Canadians will inevitably manufacture.

Cheer for him and be thankful he's not Sullinger.
Love him and maybe he'll resign with you.

I personally still love Ibaka and continue to cheer for him off and on the court.
And I will now enjoy watching Raptors games more than before.
