I loved the garbage time argument. As if giving up big leads in the 4th quarter was anything but a terrible sign. A defense that can't stop anyone when the game is on the line is not one you want going into the super bowl.

Sorry, anon, but nope. Nobody will ever forget the Butler INT.

It's just a different type of meltdown. ATL melted down slowly over the course of a quarter. Seattle took Belichick's bait and melted down in an instant, throwing away the owl with one bad play.

Panthers got some real fans although I'm not sure the city itself can support it for so long since it's so small market and isolated with too much competition around it.

Watching rugby on ESPN, it's the America's rugby championship, USA vs. Brazil, and there are NFL players taking part in it.

USA is absolutely destroying Brazil and I'm sitting here wondering why the NFL doesn't do as many lateral passes as rugby?

If you really think about it I think the risk of a TO doesn't out weigh the increased chances of huge runs and scoring on that run.

Just spam screen passes and have a trailing WR catch a lateral after the RB is cornered.

what should happen =/= what actually will happen

i don't like trubisky, i think he lacks experience, but with the grades scouts are giving him and a really weak QB class he's probably going to go in the top 5 and almost certainly the top 15 picks.
>>
>>74196333
WHY NOT POST WHAT YOU THINK SHOULD HAPPEN RATHER THAN SOME RETARDED GRASP?

CAPS LOCK UNINTENTIONAL
>>
>>74196360
because it's a mock draft, you're supposed to predict what will actually happen.

i tried to make as many "good" draft picks for teams as i could, but the fact remains that someone is going to reach on trubisky and you have to factor that into the rest of the draft. 49ers are just the most likely candidate due to their new coaching situation
>>

>>

>>
>>74196439
every single mock draft in the history of everything is a crapshoot because no one knows what will happen until draft day, i hope you realize that.

having the 49ers select someone other than trubisky would actually make it less realistic at this point, so i'm not going to do that. there's no need to have an autistic fit over something this basic.

should? almost any of the top 10 prospects would be good, they have a ton of holes. fournette would probably be a bad choice with hyde already there, but any of the defensive prospects would help the rebuild, and though mike williams would be an overdraft at #2 imo, he'd be a okay fit.

problem is that the niners really do have a QB need, so if they don't get someone like cousins or jimmy g they need to consider it in the draft. trubisky has issues, but he does have NFL traits, and kyle shanahan is supposed to be good for QBs. i think the most likely pick is a QB, but i wouldn't be blown away if they went with jonathan allen or something.

there will be more free agents as teams cut players on bad deals
>>
>>74196672
the problem is that cousins is by far the best quarterback available this offseason so he's probably going to command a fuckton of money. 49ers have the cap space to pay him now, but it might cause some issues in the future if they backloaded his contract.

best WRs available in free agency are alshon jeffrey and pierre garcon/desean jackson. i think djax is going to stay in washington, but either one of them could move if cousins jumps ship. martellus bennett could be a factor as well, he might just want to get paid now.

jimmy is under contract for the next year, so in the short term yes. he will be a free agent at the end of next year so you'd have to pay him then, but it would definitely be less than cousins.

to get him this offseason though you'd probably have to trade your second round pick though. but if it means you can draft a non-QB with the 2nd overall pick it could end up being worth it.

as much as i hate the patriots they get all the respect they deserve from belichick down to brady down to hightower, its just the pats fans because they are really not true fans of the game of football (which brady and belichick have always loved and admired) but rather that the pats are just winning. once B & B retire most of the pats fans will say "football isn't as fun as it use to be anymore" and its sickening

It is true. Rewatch the AFCCG, they constantly rushed 3 against one of the best O-lines in the league, got pressure on like 5 out of 50 drop backs and still held the Steelers to 9 non garbage time points.

That's just how this defense was designed to work, it just backfired vs Seattle because the coverage couldn't hold

I bought Madden 15 for $13 because I thought it would be like FIFA but with football. The game sucks. It looks bad, the atmosphere is painfully absent, and the available plays are too restrictive and not very fun. It's too arcade-y but at the same time it's no fun at all. Sometimes times I want to break Peyton's legs and take the personal foul penalty, but the game doesn't even let you be violent at all. The last one I bought was Madden 09 it it sucked too.

Because the defense can tackle the runner at any point, there is no offside tackle rule, the defense can just knock the ball out of bounds, the defense doesn't have to worry about knock-ons, there is a very good chance the offense will start holding or block in the back, the list goes on and on.

watson had accuracy issues last year, but i still think he's the best QB prospect this year by far. he's as good of a pocket passer as trubisky (he also performed against much harder opponents in college) and being a dual threat increases his value on a team that lives off its running game. it would be a reach, but the 10th overall pick is at the point in the draft where the truly game changing prospects are mostly gone.
>>74198207
i agree, which is why they would be fine drafting him with taylor still on the team. let him get a small taste of NFL defenses and mature and you could have the next mcnair or moon on your hands.

i think any running QB has extremely short shelf life, just look at andrew luck and soon for carson wentz if he just realizes to throw away the ball is a lot of times better than running it for a few yards. i hope wilson does get better at pocket passing instead of always trying to run the ball. guy has a heart of a champion but a lot of times i know his fans cringe when he begins to run.

I wouldn't put too much stock against Ramczyk just because of the hip injury. He's one of the most well balanced O-linemen in the draft and wouldn't be expected to start right away due to the depth at RT (Pasztor will more than likely win that post regardless).

Taking a RB only makes sense if the line is solidified first. Crowell is coming off a highly productive season and Duke is a playmaker. After Garrett, of Ramczyk isn't the option, Safety or DB would be the way to go and I agree with you on Tabor there.
>>
>>74199206
all valid points, but i can't imagine a scenario where a talent like fournette is available that late and the browns don't grab him. it might not be the most logical pick, but he has the chance to be a generational talent.

i agree with you on ramczyk, only o-lineman worth taking in the top 15. tabor is more of an immediate need though, and that would be snagging a top 2 cb in the draft at pick 12. not bad at all
>>
>>74199206
>and wouldn't be expected to start right away due to the depth at RT
The Browns are not in a position to waste first round draft picks on depth players. They need day one starters, not players that will be good for them in two or three years.
>>
>>74199272
Valid, that was a stupid remark. He would start anyway I guess, then again, this new regime seems to be doing everything different than in previous years.
>>
>>74199523
I just don't think that the Browns need a new starting tackle. The line was *mostly* fine, it's just when both starting guards end up on the IR, you're going to have a bad time. There are bigger areas of need for the Browns.
I say grab Garrett at 1, and a CB at 12.
>>
>>74199261
is fournette's ankle really fucked up or is it just draft memes
>>
>>74199261
Agreed. Especially since there is no clear #2 corner (or #1 with Haden being the oldest 26 year old on the planet with his brittle bones and fragile soft brain tissue rattling around in his skull). Probably wouldn't be a stretch to go Garrett, Tabor, then another corner or Safety at pick 33. However, that's not how building an MLB roster for future success works. You don't just "fill the gap" with big name FAs and maybe one big time draft pick. The approach is more taking into account that while one guy in a position of need can turn you around, injuries happen, then you're back at square one, so drafting young talent and signing a specific type of UDFA will be the approach for the next couple years. Basically trying to create a roster of a few good veteran players, and a slew of rookies and players under 26 years old.

i think there's a price range for cousins that i would absolutely bring him back for, and the departures of garçon and maybe djax would free up space.
still, the redskins have maybe 3 above average defensive players and if they want to make a run at any defensive FA giving cousins 20 million really handicaps them. cousins will also be 29 next year, so they have to think long and hard about whether this is the person they want to be in charge of their future.
>>
>>74200763
29 is not that old in quarterback years

they do need more help on defense, absolutely agree, but I'd rather have Cousins overpriced than go back to qb hell

regardless the key is their next few drafts.
>>
>>74200763
police. you know he wanted a deal last year. or before last year rather.
but instead they franchised him at twice what he was worth in a PROVE IT! contract.

they did it so they could say they arent tanking a season and gear up for a new QB
but then
>he proved it and now they are stuck with QB hungry teams willing to pay him and the redskins get snaked a competent QB while the redskins finish last in the NFC

really hope the niners take him and he gets his money and the redskins get fucked
>>
>>74200870
cousins won that bet, i'm not denying that he deserves to get paid or that a team will pay him. i just don't think it is in the best interest of the redskins to be the one to sign him to a record contract. if cousins is feeling resentful of the franchise tag and wants them to break the bank, i really don't think they should cave. he's definitely in the top half of QBs in the league but he hasn't proven to me that he's good enough to bet that much on. i know luck will be the comparison, but not only is cousins not quite as good as luck, that contract is still massively fucking over the colts. if they bite the bullet and go for cousins, they could quickly find themselves being ousted by younger teams just like the colts are. i'm not saying that their best outcome involves cousins leaving, but it would be unwise to view him as a must-sign player

jesus christ this RACE BAITING OJ documentary on espn

like does the revenue of espn reflect that race baiting programs were the bread and butter of the network?

I mean it's been nothing but since 2011 and I dont watch espn anymore, but I do miss the old espn sometimes. I mean do you remember sports shows years and years ago when it wasn't "retired black athletes shouting over eachother and talking jive to eachother while the white female co host nervously laughs trying to steer them into the segue for the next segment"
god bless mike wilbon and charles barkley

the fuck are you on about? if a glass of water is 25% motor oil and 75% water it's not a glass of water anymore.

actually up that to 80% motor oil the entire lead up to the trial is race baiting about how the LA riots were justified and how race baiting got him off cause he deserved it

LAPD fucked up multiple aspects of the case (Shitty evidence collection, Fuhrman, etc.) against a (at the time) well respected former athlete and actor in the immediate aftermath of the worst race riots of the last 40 years. On top of this the prosecution got out played by possibly the finest legal team ever assembled.
I wouldn't call it a slam dunk, but they had a pretty good shot at a conviction. Despite that I totally understand how the jury could see reasonable doubt.
OJ's guilty as hell though, and his long sentence for the Las Vegas incident was obvious retribution.
>>
>>74202832
that dumb bitch deserved it and then some, literally the only thing he did wrong was call that guy a faggot.
>>
>>74202836
>I wouldn't call it a slam dunk, but they had a pretty good shot at a conviction. Despite that I totally understand how the jury could see reasonable doubt.

The problem is that the prosecution didn't drill into the jury that it's reasonable doubt not ANY doubt.

The prosecution did fuck it up and they're a large reason why he got off, but the Rodney King incident still left a bad taste in some of their mouths -- though, I will credit that one woman who took race out of the equation and looked at the evidence, as best she could.
>>

mixon committed a crime. he served a sentence. if you still think he should be punished for it, you have no fucking idea how the criminal justice system is supposed to work. the fact you think he shouldn't even be drafted at all makes me think that you have some sort of personal vendetta against him or people similar to him, so i'm gonna assume you just don't like black people very much.

>>74202860
also he was fucking red shirted and did 100 hours community service. he wasn't even banned from team activities.

>>
>>74202948

>>
>>74202957
i'm not going to argue semantics of his punishment. what remains is that he was punished after being convicted of a crime. generally that is the end of the affair. he lost a season and he did community service, that is serving your time.
>>74202977
i'm referring more to the NFL actually banning him from the combine.

i get why it was done, but it's still fucking ridiculous. what is the point of him even doing the community service and redshirting a season if arbitrarily his future employer is going to say "hey you did this crime and you were punished but we're still going to fuck you because we've been having image concerns lately"? the way mixon's case is being handled is more similar to a rape charge for crying out loud.

yes, he punched a woman. no, this is not some sort of capital crime. i honestly cannot see why people are losing their goddamn minds over this

nah, I read the replies dude and all I see is you calling him a racist for calling a nigger exactly what it is. He never once made any statement about blacks as demographic (not that there is anything wrong with ideas based on generalities), but don't let that stop you from construing everything he said to ultimately "I hate black people" (implying that's even a reason to discredit someone in the first place).

It's very easy to tell you are a nigger yourself by the fact that you think "being racist" means literally anything. Well either that, or a Seattle fan. On second thought that makes more sense. Your cuck fantasies don't work if you don't believe in the superiority of your bull.

hate to break it to you faggot but discriminating against race is in human nature. Everyone's a racist. You're not "pure".

>when its fucking used as a cudgel to purposely inflame niggers like a loaded gun to the D.A.'s head as in if you convict we will make sure they riot to let some murderer you have dead to rights go based of a manufactured narrative that had no bearing on evidence

see this is where you're getting off topic, before you were blaming the documentary but now you're blaming the justice system. You're not bringing up any counter points to what I said. You're just shouting walls of text and hopes if it's long winded enough that it looks like you're making a great argument.

no no, you've misundestood. i'm not asking you why they banned him, which you would know if you were actually reading my posts instead of typing out paragraphs and paragraphs of your weird ideology mixed with odd vocabulary.

i'm asking you why should joe mixon be punished by his future employer for a crime he already served time for? because it was caught on video? because the NFL is trying to maintain what's left of its tattered image? probably. you seem to think it's in some way justified, which is hilarious, but you can't seem to tell me why. it's fine to re-iterate what happened in the case for the 500th time, but can you maybe tell me why this was the right thing to do? or are you going to actually admit that it's bullshit that the NFL actually cares what mixon did and he's just being made an example of?

like jesus christ do you seriously not understand the idea of penance? the idea of what you do in prison or whatever being a way to atone for what you did? you seriously seem to think that his fist connecting with her face is this unerasable black mark on who he is, and that the NFL is right for doing so.

nope, you're just making up your own shit again. you don't get to decide what his punishment was, the people in charge of doing that already did and your opinion on the situation means fucking nothing. he did what he was told to do for this single isolated incident.

and you're confusing the right i'm talking about, which is the term for something that is the logical and correct thing to do in a situation, for the right you're talking about, which seems to be the term for whatever will lose you the least amount of money. joe mixon is still going to be drafted, like tyreek hill, and the NFL doesn't give a flying fuck about that. they're just doing the bare minumum to cover their asses.

also in what fucking way is this even tangentially related to "spousal abuse"? the person he hit was a literal stranger to him. you can't seriously be trying to tell me that this situation is justified because she was a woman? i agree that he didn't need to hit her or hit her that hard, but it's still the same thing as punching anyone. the case does not become equivalent to rape or murder because she was a woman, and it doesn't become domestic violence because it's man on woman. she slapped him, and he retaliated. he went overboard, served his time, but now according to you he shouldn't even be allowed in the NFL because he committed a crime once.

>still love greg hardy though. kraken fo life.

Worst in terms of "holy shit just everything about this trade is so fucking awful", I'd say Clots giving up a first rounder for Trent Richardson
