I think it's the only place that makes sense. AD loves the 4, let Okafor take the 5. AD can roam and challenge shots, and Okafor just needs to boxout his man and grab the rebound.

Okafor is not a rim protector so pairing him with AD is a good fit, like Randle and Zubac in LA.

On offense, I don't know. I don't watch enough of the Pelicans to know their offense. I'm guessing the Pelicans will stagger minutes so Okafor stays in a little bit longer and gets some postups.

I actually put some thought in this, I think shaq is still more of a threat than Curry or Durant so obviously you need a couple of huge athletic freaks to contain him. Draymond's passing advantage gets countered by Kawhi, Harden is as skilled as Curry/Thompson at chucking and can negate Shaq's impact by driving at him and fouling him out. Magic outclasses Payton at PG. The guy's not as good a defender, sure, but he can hold his own (Guy's still top 25 all time in steals) and he's probably the one point guard that payton couldn't potentially shut down. His passing ability is just too good.

Jordan vs AI is interesting because you've got two guys who led the league in steals three times and who have incredible offensive capabilities. Jordan's skill set is more complete and his defense is better, but AI's explosiveness is peerless. It'd be a question of who can score more efficiently and if they can stop the other guy.

Kawhi vs. LeBron is another good one. Nobody can really stop Bron cold but Kawhi can do it damn near as well as anyone else. He got a Finals MVP for making LeBron less LeBron-like. LeBron's no slouch on defense of course, but Kawhi's the best perimeter defender since Scottie Pippen. Lebron's versatility is the real key here if he can win the matchup.

Rodman vs. Barkley is interesting in a different way. Rodman will win on the boards against anyone. But Chuck's offensive capability is way higher. This one is a lot like the LeBron-Kawhi matchup: Can Rodman get the best of Chuck? Since this is the matchup where you can get a set of head-to-head stats, I used the gamefinder on bbref to try to find games where Rodman and Chuck went head-to-head as starters (At least between 86-87 and 96-97 so both are in their primes). That will be in a post responding to this one because it takes a while to compute this by hand.

Olajuwon vs. Shaq is tricky. Olajuwon won the matchup in the 95 finals, sure, but that wasn't against the mighty shaq of the laker threepeat.

Possibly. He's already shown more ability to develop and grow past his rookie issues than Marcus Smart has in his entire career.

He's defense has gradually been getting better (although he's still really sloppy at transitioning between players). His rebounding is excellent, for what he's shown as a wing. And he's clearly physically made for the NBA as he has no problem getting to the rim.

Problems for him really come down to
1) Fucking learn to shoot kid
and
2) Read the floor better (the sloppy transitioning thing I just mentioned)

If he can get past the two hurdles (and the first one is clearly a big one) then he has a really fucking high ceiling because his flashes have been great this season.
