Sam Shields can still play.

Packers are dumb to release him just because he had a concussion in the beginning of the season.

I don't know, he had great games with the Browns. I know he didn't win anything important, but then again, it's the Browns.

Dude has a good arm and made good use of Barnidge , I'm sure players like Marshall, Smith and Decker would welcome him.

I would easily put him over Glennon when healthy.

Chargers
Bucs
Cardinals
Lions
Vikings

Not their best moment, but will probably win a championship in the future due to good ownership/FO:
Ravens
Giants

>Because it seems so confusing that the Patriots won't want to retain most of their team to next year
They will want to. They just won't be able to because some of their free agents will end up getting overpaid by other teams.
>>
Reminder the falcons will win the superbowl next season with a 15-1 record.

It starts on the first game of the new season, beating the patriots at foxborough 42-24. They lose only to seattle away.

Play offs first game vs NYG. Eli gets btfo and Beckham chokes.

Next it's the green bay packers. Insert 2016 NFC title game.

Broncos in the superbowl with new QB Tony Romo. Close game with Ryan throwing for over 300 and 2TD's.

American football is dangerous. An average career lasts like 3-4years and contracts aren't guaranteed so you can suddenly blow out your knee and end up jobless. They just want to maximise their earnings while they can, especially since they already have their Super Bowl rings.
>>
>>74148716
Go for the true alphas, the Tennessee Titans
>excellent, young quarterback Marcus Mariota
>amazing run threat with Murray/Henry
>drafting the top wide receiver in the nation, which will give Walker assistance in the receiving game
>a defense which is only getting stronger
>>
>>74149482
It those small extra millions worth being humiliated as a Brown week in week out tho? How could they not want to win more rings?
>>
>>74148716
The Bears have a promising young player in Jordan Howard. If they can build a line for him and get a serviceable QB, they could be semi-competitive by 2018.
>>
>>74149495
A lot of them don't get paid that much, especially on rookie deals. The extra millions are only small for the biggest stars, there are over 50 guys on the roster and for a lot of them those extra millions mean a few more years of comfortable life after NFL. And there is no better time to get overpaid than right after winning the Super Bowl.

In 20 years, no one will remember whether Jabal Sheard or Brandon Bolden won just 1 or 2 rings with the Pats.
>>
>>74149480

if you're really talking about the no-catch vs. packers like 5 years go, the steps were part of his landing process from the jump.

It was one movement from jumping to grab it and falling on the ground, and the ball hit the ground and bobbled when he fell.

No es un catcho as the spanish in spain say.

>>

bilal powell averaged 5.5 ypc last year, so i didn't feel the need.

and are you sure you watch college football? allen is rated higher than fournette by the vast majority of analysts and his skills are more likely to translate. i adore fournette, but he's had injury issues in the past, and running back is imo the easiest position to bust at. do the jets even have a good offensive line outside of mangold?

whether you like it or not allen would be considered BPA there.

now that you mention it robinson would be a pretty good fit for their offense, he's a monster in the run game. if it's between the two i really think the allure of fournette wins out though.

corners can be a little scary to draft that early, but if adams or hooker were to fall, they'd go there. i'm not sure if they do though, most top-heavy safety class in a long time

Fake news. Hightower isn't protesting anything, he didn't go to the White House in 2015 either.

so we'd draft Allen because BPA but wouldn't draft Fournette because our soon to be 29 Year Old Running Back who's never handled a full year's workload had a career year?

We were playing Sheldon at OLB because we had nowhere else to put him this year. Neither Sheldon or Wilkerson are going to be easy to move this season.

I think Lattimore or Adams or legit better players and bigger needs, and Foster is at least comparable.

Allen doesn't have the quickness to be an elite pass rusher at his positon on the next level.

>>
>>74151628
there's no secondary or lineman worth the #8 pick, and I really doubt Gettleman trades it away. He almost always follows BPA and I'm pretty confident #8 will either be Fournette or Cook

Fournette is heir-apparent to Johnathan Stewart and >our current run game, and even though Cook is equally talented the offense would need to make adjustments to utilize him in full
>>
>>74151589
Norway, did you just use Brady's friendship with Trump as even a fraction of a percent as to why Marty walks? I assure that has absolutely no bearing on the situation in the slightest...the money, yes, lack of a personal safespace, no.
>>
>>74151742
why wouldn't richardson be easy to move this offseason/season? he's one of the most talented defensive players available in any way. moreover, the jets almost have to be feeling the need to move one of them since their contracts push them wayy over the cap. wilkerson has a larger contract and is older, so richardson is much more attractive to teams.

allen can play anywhere on the defensive line, if you're thinking of him as a pure pass rusher you're completely disregarding what makes him so good. he's nearly immovable in run D, and he really can get to the QB, whether with technique, power, or quickness. there are many people who think he's actually a better prospect than myles garrett. if you really don't think allen is worth the #6 overall pick, i'm not sure you realize how good of a player he has the potential to be. the jets don't need to fill needs right now, they're rebuilding. and they certainly don't need to risk picking the wrong corner in round 1 when the draft is filled with potential starters.

Let me put it another way. All things being equal in a hypothetical situation where the Pats could/would match the highest offer Marty would get, I would literally bet my house that he'd have zero issue resigning with the Pats.

The only thing he cares about is getting the maximum contract. He is a very passionate guy as you mentioned and I am not suggesting he isn't both morally and ethically staunch but business is business and as far as I can tell him and Brady get along just fine on the field.

Richardson's trade value has plummeted for being a dumbass off the field

doesn't make sense to trade low and his contract isn't that much.

Run defense isn't the problem, and Leonard Williams can already play anywhere on the line and the emergence of Deon Simon has really helped. Team only gave up 3.7 YPC and it's been that way for a long time.

Yes I know the jets are rebuilding but that doesn't mean they need to have 5 quality defensive line starters on a 3-4 defense when Richardson was forced to play OLB just to get on the field.

Allen is a great talent but he wasn't as praised as Williams was. Drafting a QB would be reach but this draft has Quality defensive backs worthy of top 10 selections as well as Fournette.

fair enough, i was drafting based on the assumption that one of them is going to be moved, since the jets are like 7 million over the cap.

now that i see it ryan clady is probably going to be cut to save 10 million though, right? didn't realize that contract was so terrible.

I thought at 28-3 that it should be done, but there was still a lot of time on the clock. Atlanta's defense was the 27th pass defense too. I kept thinking Brady would light them up and make it close in the fourth. Like in this game where Brady came back down 21 in the fourth, nearly tied it.

Once the strip sack happened, I knew the Falcons were going to lose.

You don't? I'm not saying he's a bad dude for it, but he runs his business and he's made it clear both by turning down the Pats initial offer, not that he shouldn't have, and his "throw away" comment which he actually mentioned not just getting paid but in fact looking forward to being overpaid for what he valued his own worth. Which gets to back to my original point, he would absolutely have no issue resigning with Pats if they could and would offer the most money.

All I'm saying is there's a huge difference between getting "overpaid" and "only caring about getting the maximum contract".

If he's only interested in the highest bid then more power to him, he's earned it, but there's nothing yet to suggest that's the case.

My guess is if the Pats, or another really good team, make a competitive offer, he'll remember the shitty time he had in Chicago with Jay Cutler, and he'll remember winning lots of games with Tom Brady.

Cam Rob scares teams, not many successful linemen from 'Bama

and when he went up against Garrett (he'll being going up against someone of that caliber every week), he looked bad.
>>
>>74153836
i think there are issues with robinson in the passing game, plus the off-the-field stuff, but he's not a bad choice at #26.

also he won't be facing myles garrett every week lol
>>
>>74153836
I know he's not perfect, but this draft is fucking shit for OL in general.

I fully expect the Hawks to trade down multiple times again and grab a literal who tackle in the third round.

I really fucking hope they sign an OT in FA or via trade, because they aren't going deep in the playoffs any time soon with the line they've go right now
>>
>>74153872
lol he wont face Garrett every week, i know that. but if he goes to the 'hawks, he'll be in a division that has decent to good pass rush with Jones, Golden - Donald, Brockers

>>74153895
if i was 'hawks gm (im a panthers fan, so ultimately dont care lol)

-Sign Ricky Wagner
-Draft Brolles, Garcia or Mcdermott for guard/tackle depth
>>
>>74154019
yeah robinson is still a project. with his strength and ability in the run game he's got great potential though. i think he could come in and play a decent LT to begin with, but it might be better to sign an FA and stick him at RT to mature.

if they don't try and reload at CB, robinson is a choice that makes a lot of sense.
>>
>>74154019
I would love that desu, getting tackle depth will be key this offseason.

Britt at center is actually solid. Ifedi and Odiambo are still learning at guard. but the tackle position is paper thin. They need a veteran presence there. Hell, i'd be ok if they brought Okung back at this point.

It was literally the defense. Because of Brady they were down 21-3. If not for the defense's key turnover and sack, the Patriots would have lost. Those records don't really matter seeing as it was only cause of the defense, Brady even had a chance. He was throwing poorly all day. Falcons 27th ranked D dropped four to five easy interceptions. And I hate them, every year it's the same shit, they make good deals, they have people coming in that will do good for the team.

And they mess it up

Every time they fucking mess up.

If there was a team that was impossible to beat at messing up, it's the fucking Bills, the Bills will absolutely test your ability to understand how badly a team can fuck them up. Cause they do.

Make the greatest team of all time, someone who would go 19-0 10 seasons in a row, and the Bills would manage to miss the playoffs 11 times in the same time frame

And they always manage to get you to come back

Fuck the Bills
>>
>>74155827
I know this is trolling but I'll give it a shot and then leave it alone.

The first score was off Blount's fumble. Ryan thew a TD. Brady had nothing to do with either of these.

The third TD was all on him, yes. I'll give that.

But engineering the largest comeback in Owl history, earning his 5th championship, he has eclipsed Montana, all respect due to Joe Cool.

Have struggled to keep up this year and am still a novice at this sport so if someone could explain this:

What are the Bears biggest problems? From what I can see the issue (apart from getting fucked by injuries) was just a poor offensive line and secondary. They've got great attacking options out wide and Howard is a beast, but that's all useless if your QB is getting rekt every play.

As far as defence, they never looked comfortable in the secondary and I particularly remember against the cowboys Bryant made White look like a fucking child. I know it's Bryant but still there's a limit.

Is this a fairly correct assessment or am I retarded, and if the latter why?
>>
>>74159216
Prescott had a great game in the play offs though. He wasn't the problem.
>>
>>74159251
Bears are a general mess, they had a lot of injuries so they're not quite as bad as their 3-13 record but they do absolutely need to find a new solution at quarterback.

They could use more talent on their defensive line, Kevin White has looked like a major bust as a wr so they'll definitely need more wr help if Jeffrey walks.

Their pass rush is the best part of their defense, everywhere else could stand to be improved. Not a horrible pass defense but not good either.

I know Rivers threw to literal-whos for 1,000 yards, but they should take a WR in the draft that can stay on the field -- unlike Allen, sad to say.

>>74160153
I actually think our WR corps is pretty solid if healthy.

Tyrell Williams- a stud but inexperienced, he was a practice squad project a year ago, should improve even more. I was psyched to finally see him on the field.

Keenan Allen- Not as brittle as people want to think. He killed his acl this year, but his only previous injury was a freak kidney laceration. When healthy, he could be the best WR in the AFC. Losing Allen this year hurt, but there really isn't a basis to say he can't stay on the field.

Travis Benjamin- Struggled a little playing on a real football team and a precise offense, but he's the real deal athletically. Expect improved production.

Stevie Johnson- Good depth if healthy. Iffy on whether or not he should stay.

We definitely need some depth in the later rounds or UDFA, but picking high on WR is just gonna starve both lines.

Disclaimer: Now that I've said all that out loud, all above players will die in a horrible taco shop fire

The keyword: healthy.

Nothing against Inman or Williams, but they can't be the two WRs on the field.

Keenan is too oft-injured -- and he can ball when he's healthy, no doubt; Benjamin is... eh. He seems afraid of contact; and I really hope Stevie has a good year because it's been bad luck for him -- especially getting put on IR IN THE PRESEASON.

I'm just saying they need another WR who can stretch the field AND stay on the field.

I'd like a WR in the 3rd, personally.

Here's the answer to the Chargers problems in 1 draft (plus picking up, say, Reiff in FA and resigning Melvin Ingram and Woodhead)

Round 1 Pick 9 (CINN): Jamal Adams, SS, LSU (A+)
Round 2 Pick 6: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (A-)
Round 2 Pick 9 (CINN): Takkarist McKinley, OLB/DE, UCLA (A)
Round 3 Pick 7: Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington (A+)
Round 4 Pick 6: Julien Davenport, OT, Bucknell (A-)
Round 5 Pick 7: Corn Elder, CB, Miami (Fla.) (B)
Round 6 Pick 6: Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA (A)
Round 7 Pick 7: Chad Hansen, WR, California (A+)

Overhauling the OL is a big undertaking. Also, we haven't seen Tuerk play -- who can be put in the RG position.

Dunlap needs to be cut, though. Stuck with Franklin, for the time being.

>>74160345
I like the first 2 rounds. Don't know enough about Kupp to have an opinion and I'm not sure about OLB/DE in the 3rd -- only because I think another CB should be taken. Verrett is too oft-injured and it can't just be Hayward making plays.
