I think it's a given Darnold will continue being a baller. USC's success will depend more on how well the 3 new OL starters play and if the receivers step up. Burnett is the only proven receiver who is returning.

USC always has pretty elite receivers so I'm not too worried about that. I think >our offense under-utilizes the TE and Imatorbhebhe looks like he has the skill to dominate if they decide to start incorporating tight ends. I am a little worried about breaking in two new offensive tackles. Darnold is great at feeling and evading pressure but he also benefited from playing behind a very experienced line that didn't allow much pressure in the first place.

That was 2001. Friedgen left us for Maryland and they came out of fucking nowhere to win the conference. First team to win it alone since FSU had joined the league a decade before.

Our game against Maryland that year is still the most bizarre experience I've ever had at a sporting event. On what would be the last play of the game in overtime, everyone in my section somehow knew that if we ran the ball, we were going to fumble and lose and somehow we knew that we were going to run the ball anyway. People were yelling "DON'T DO IT GEORGE" and "Here it comes." Lo and fucking behold, Godsey hands off to Joe Burns up the middle, he takes a hit, the ball soars into the Atlanta skyline, Maryland grabs it and we lose the game. Not as weird if you weren't there I guess but it was fucking weird to know what was about to happen and for everyone around you to know what was about to happen, and then watch it play out. Aubrey Solomon a 5 Star that decommited back in August came back, 4 Star WR Nico Collins committed giving us 3 4 star WRs and 1 5 Star WR in the Class, and the #1 Punter.

Final ranking was #5 because of a slow NSD because we had minimal targets probably because we basically got everyone we wanted earlier. Still amazing to even be that high in class rankings

One of my biggest concerns next season is Receiver. With Jake Butt, Amara Darboh, and Jehu Chesson gone for the NFL Receiver it was a big problem. But I feel very much at ease now with the signings, and I feel extremely confident in our defense going in next season especially Line Backer and Defensive Line. The only position im still on the edge about us Defensive Back.
