You could make it feel more important than it is now though.
Just have the first renewal of it be in 2021 or something & stage it during the summer of every odd year.

The Confederations Cup could take place in June & this could take place in July.
Move the Copa America/CONCACAF to The Year of The Euros like what happened this Year & you're sorted.
