Nottingham Forest were nothing before Brian Clough and they returned to nothing after him, it's also not a very big city, they are basically on par with Leicester, they didn't pull in a lot of new fans like Chelsea from untapped areas in London and Home Counties etc.

Yes but unfortunately for Forest, they won all their silverware back when football was still a working class game, if they had done what they did then, today, it would be a different story, they would be swimming in money.

Forest won the European cup when you only needed to win about 4 games to reach the final. Unfortunately for Arsenal they weren't great during the late 70s and 80s. But yeah Arsenal should have won at least one or two Europeans cups tbqh. Though it's much harder to do so these days.

Forest became good when there wasn't a lot of competition. Arsenal became good at the same time that Manchester United and Barcalona became good. Also they got unlucky in the 2006 CL final.

It's weird that they're the only one of the "Big Four" to not win it during that 2005-12 period when English clubs were actually good. Liverpool reached 2 finals and won 1, Chelsea reached 2 finals and won 1, United reached 3 finals and won 1....
