Weekend of draws

great game of ruggers today boys.

Both teams brought an intensity and attacking intent that was only curtailed by heroic defence on both sides.

As a Welshman I have to give credit to Irelel, with so many injuries, they put on a quite spectacular performance. It was lovely to see Wales experimenting with some new back play and having a go out wide. New systems were clearly bieng tried out, the Irish defence had answers to the questions we posed them though, so still work to do in polishing the moves off.

Both those teams should beat England, France, Scotland and Italy on the evidence of yesterdays shiftiests.

I have a feeling Wales will get better as the tournament goes on.

We chucked the ball around in spades.

In previous years we would have tucked it up the jumper in such a tight game but today we saw some real attempts to spread the ball and capitalise on overlaps.

It was only a bit of bad luck and the fact that those irish boys bust an absolute gut in defence that denied us a couple of tries.

The same holds true for Ireland who were mightily impressive on the counter, only denied by great one on one welsh tackling.

The draw was an absolutely fair reflection on the game imo.

I follow the Guinness Pro12 since my team plays in that. There'[s always the Euro championship (Champion's league equivalent) though thats gotten a lot worse since they changed the make-up of the competition.

There isn't really an EPL equivalent league. Everyone mostly sticks to their own. Aviva is the English league but its pretty bad rugby unless you're English and enjoy that. Top14 is the French one and is at risk of becoming a one team league. The Pro12 is made up of teams for Wales, IReland, Scotland and Italy.
