A little history on the word Redskins, it was first used by a tribe in Miami called the Piankashaws. When they first met the colonists that landed in Florida they called themselves Redskins as they saw the white colonists. The word was later used for bounties but was originally the way those natives self identified.

Word is now similar to niggers because it was originally used to call someone subhuman. While people in Europe and America would call each other that as an insult and eventually started calling there slaves niggers.

Redskins is the best logo in the NFL. Classic, powerful, immediately recognizable. I can think of no better tribute to the Native American people than honoring their memory with a football team that represents our nation's capital.
