last 4 olympics I've watched as close to everything as physically possible. for the 2 weeks all I do is wake up before the broadcast starts and watch until it's done for the day. I love watching even the sports I don't understand just for the olympic atmosphere. Though I've gained basic understanding of pretty much everything. Only thing I have trouble being entertained by is sailing

I do the same for euros and WC even though I don't typically follow football. Last WC's I've watched literally every game (they show the simultaneous deciding group stage matches after one another with no spoilers for this purpose). I really love the big tournament atmosphere and stories they create. I use vacation days for this, for me 2 weeks of dedicated sports watching is more relaxing than any trip or other use of vacation time.
