Why don't NFL teams ever trade players that fucking matter?

AC/DC are boring, every song is the same

If the team that has them doesn't want the player anymore, prospective trade partners are suspicious of why.

Well Joe Thomas is a HOF caliber player and the Browns were almost retarded enough to let him go, which is vintage Browns.

Its hard to plug and play players like that in the middle of the season. Just look at the Seahawks and Jimmy Graham. They had all offseason to learn how to use him and are still learning.

The Broncos right now with Tebow at QB would literally be a better version of the 2013-14 Seahawks. Their defense is just as good and their offense would be much better than Seattle's was. They would probably be the favorites to win the Super Bowl, even ahead of the Pats.

Instead they will lose to the Bengals in the Divisional Round when Peyton goes 12-27, 142 yard, with 1 TD and 3 Picks.
>>
>>63305413

So this Rams VS Vikings game though...
Fun Fact: Game 1 last year Ram vs Vikes was the last time anyone has heard from Cordarrelle Patterson

Late on this, but that Vernon Davis deal was meh. Buncos didn't give up a lot for him, but the guy just isn't good anymore. He definitely isn't going to cause havoc on NE's elite defense. I still say Pats beat Denver by 10 in Mile High then in the playoffs, final score - Pats win 45-13

ESPN's arbitrary rating for a QB that covers more bases(like a QB running) and simplifies things to a 0-100 scale than the NFL's arbitrary Passer Rating(which ignores any runs a passer makes) and goes from 0-152.7.
Also, QBR doesn't penalize a QB's score as much as Passer Rating does when a receiver drops a perfectly thrown ball.
On paper, it's a more effective and accurate look at a QB's performance and contribution to the team than the old NFL passer rating, which didn't account for modern read-option quarterbacks or have leeway to the actual events on the field. Just measuring completions and TDs with no regard to how it happened or how well they were played.

It's only close when the other team is confident that they will win so they begin sitting starters, yet still manage to win. I don't understand why they haven't fired Pagano mid-season, they clearly aren't going anywhere even if they somehow do make it to the wildcard round.

That's the whole point
Passer rating is what matters
QBR is a made up stat by ESPN that they give no information on how it is derived

I don't give two shits if he smokes his dope every day, but if whether I mind him smoking weed or not doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is, if he smokes and gets caught, he gets a suspension. If think twice about sinking a lot of money into someone who's one fun night away from being out of the league.

iirc if he wins his appeal of the suspension he got for missing that 2014 meeting, he can become a FA after this season.

Opponents records are tricky, teams like the Packers haven't really beat anyone worthy and have struggled against bad teams also.

Apples and oranges, we're looking at this only from a JEST defensive angle.

Offensively there were to many variables to make a fair comparision, especially with Fritzpatrick being knocked out early. Defensively, the Raiders put up over 10 times as many rushing yards against the JESTS as the Pats. Now let's seem them go up against an elite D-line like the Broncos are packing IN mile high. As I said before, unless Belicheat has some super secret plan to decode the Bronco's defense and Manning's arm gives out on him. Their chances are not looking good. Especially after the Broncos just manhandled the best team in the NFC.

Depends on a few things.
1. What Winston does from this point forward as he's the strongest QB rookie at this point and QBs get the inside track.
2. Whether Cooper will be pushed as to make up for Carr not being in the MVP or offensive player of the year running.
3. If Gurley can keep up this pace would being overworked and ran into the ground. If the Rams can avoid giving him 30 or more carries like the GB game, that may happen.

Week 14 last year Buffalo held Peyton to 170 yards 0 TDs 2 INTs, week 15 they held Rodgers to 180 yards 0 TDs, 2 INTs. Finished #2 in the league in defense, #1 in the league in sacks, and that was used as proof all summer that they'd destroy the Patriots this year.

Then they start this year by dominating Andrew Luck in week 1.

In week 2 the Pats would stand no chance IN buffalo. The Cold Front would demolish them.

Let's go over this real fast.

2010 OROTY: Sam Bradford, Mike Williams, and Maurkice Pouncey. This is a fucking easy choice, especially since Bradford got the Rams more wins in his one year than they had the previous 3 combined.

2011 OROTY: Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, AJ Green. It's really only between AJ Green and Cam Newton here. Green had an amazing rookie year, with over 1000 yards and 7 TDs. Cam Newton threw for 4k yards, 21 passing TD's, and 14 rushing TD's. Easy easy choice. Cam wins.

2012 OROTY: RG3, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson. The year of the rookie QB. It was always a tight race between Luck and RG3, since Wilson didn't really come on until the end of the year. RG3 set rookie records in QB rushing and passer rating. He was a legitimate stud. He also lead the league with 8.14 YPA, and tied with Tom Brady for lowest INT % in the NFL. The dude was simply nuts and deserved this award.

Because he runs around a lot and basically played backyard football in college, which doesn't translate to the pros. The Browns should've drafted Carr or even Bridgewater.
>>
>>63308029
He won't even finish 2nd in voting, despite deserving it. People will remember his garbage week 1 performance and assume that's what he did all year. Gurley will probably lead the league in rushing yards, rushing yards per attempt, and other nonsensical bullshit because he's stupid. Unless he dies, he's winning the award.

Despite having roughly 60 fewer attempts, he's only about 100 yards behind the leading rusher, Devonta Freeman. Despite having a game where he ended with about 5 yards on his resume, he still is averaging over 100 yards per game. He'll lock up the yardage lead position if he doesn't get hurt.

>>63306262
The Lions offense was perfectly fine during the Linehan days. Their Oline was really progressing, Calvin was putting up numbers and Stafford was playing at a high level. The biggest problem was no receivers. Yes they had Calvin but they had very little numbers. This led to nothing but deep bombs to Calvin on every play which in turn led to turnovers. Yes the lions turned the ball over a lot but they put up numbers and were a few weapons away from an elite offense. Enter the new coaching staff who wanted to "fix" Stafford and prevent him from causing so many turnovers. This led to a zone blocking horizontal offense which actually did help with the turnover problem last year but limited production immensely. The Lions have a lot of weapons now, if they were in a Scott Linehan offense still they probably would be a top ten offense.

Probably the best gunner in the NFL right now, which is exactly what you want your fucking top 12 pick to be. Gonna have to wait and see if he ever contributes on defense or if we wasted yet another first round pick on a guy that only plays on special teams.

Legit DROY candidate. Pass coverage a slight weakness but not enough that he's a liability.
>Danielle Hunter
Pretty good, has impressive edge rushing speed. Great to have in the defensive line rotation.

About what you'd expect for a 4th round offensive lineman. Just good enough to be a starter but nothing special right now, though he has improved in his pass protection.
>MyCole Pruitt
Haven't seen enough of him but he looks good when he gets the opportunity. He did see a lot of snaps against Chicago. Would like to see him get more playing time.

Steal of the entire fucking draft. Already better than every wide receiver drafted ahead of him except Amari Cooper. Fantastic route running and blazing speed.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
he is supposed to be maclin 2.0 literally the same measurements across the board in every combine measurable including 3 cone drills with slightly bigger hands
one of the most developed sure hands and route running out of college
now he can run routes but can't catch for shit and jordan matthews forgot how to catch
we just can't have nice things
>2 (47) - Eric Rowe, DB, Utah
hes decent i guess turnover babby
>3 (84) - Jordan Hicks, LB, Texas
actual ROTY candidate hes a baller and from the 3rd round
>6 (191) - JaCorey Shepherd, CB, Kansas
Was so fucking hyped to have him people passed because he was injured, allowed literally 0 deep ball completions his entire college career
his knees committed Sudoku in the offseason and we never get to see him play until next year
>6 (196) - Randall Evans, CB, Kansas State
no playing time retard depth pick maybe he turns out to be great, obv we aren't that lucky
>7 (237) - Brian Mihalik, DE, Boston College
chip likes big guys and i didn't know any other reason why he picked him, either way practice squad 6'9 maybe he can develop with that size, biggest player in the league i think

Marino
Montana
Elway
Tebow

Marino put up godly numbers decades before anyone else started to and did it with no help around him
Montana was a great QB on a team that would have won rings with someone else at QB
Elway was a great QB without much help around him, only reason he is remembered differently than Marino is that Davis carried him to a couple rings when he was 40

I would argue Gannon did a lot better than most other QBs did in that situation because the Raiders were using Gruden's playbook. So what's the only thing that could beat the Raiders? Gruden running a very good Defense on another team.

Listen to the miked up Buc players in that game, they're all basically going 'Hey man, they're running the play exactly how the coach said they would.' for the first two quarters.

The fact that the Raiders were able to score anything was damn impressive.

Now keep in mind, the Seahawks just decoded the general plays the Broncos used last year. If they had the Bronco's playbook, they would have destroyed them.
>>

But if you didn't care they would stay on the field.

>Laken Tomlinson OG
He was put into a bad position as a rookie. He has made some mistakes but I think he's playing well for the shit storm he was just thrown into.

>Ameer Ackbar Abdullah Mohammad RB
Fumbles are a big problem. I dont think they are giving him much of a chance though, he has like 7 carries the past two games. The fumbles will always be a problem but I think he still has potential to make some big plays

>Alex Carter CB
Retarded pick, could have gotten some much needed talent on Dline here. Just another wasted CB pretty much.

>Gabe Wright DT
He has been okay. Only has 5 tackles but hasn't started much. Kinda hard to judge at this point.

>Michael Burton FB
Again a bad pick. Last in the league in rushing so obviously not helping much.

>Quandre Diggs CB
Pretty good pick for a 6th rounder. He has had some broken coverages but I'm not expecting much from a 6th round CB. He's made a few good tackles.

>Corey Robinson OT
I think he's only played a few snaps. Just depth pretty much

>UDFA Zach Zenner HB

>1 Amari Cooper, WR
As advertised, amazing playmaker in the open field. Great routes, so damn fast, elite agility.
AC/DC will be around for a long time
>2 Mario Edwards Jr., DE/DT
I thought this pick was dumb, turns out I'm dumb.
Incredibly strong, with great explosiveness and a mean streak. Currently playing lights out filling in for Tuck. Could end up being Julius Peppers 2.0
>3 Clive Walford, TE
Just now starting to see playing time as he was injured all of pre-season. Good blocker, very fast and agile for someone his size. Small sample size but so far looks to be an explosive playmaking TE for Carr.
>4 Jon Feliciano, OG
Developing as a backup right now, could be a good pulling G, but who knows, very versatile so worse case he could be a good utility back up
>5 Ben Heeney, ILB
Good on special teams, always around the ball, but never sees playing time on defense. I'm hopeful but we'll see, very good attitude
>Neiron Ball, OLB
Started a few games before being injured and was very good, another late round hit. Will start again over lofton when healthy. Very fast and athletic, good in coverage and can rush the passer
>6 Max Valles, DE
Practice squad this year, very raw
>7 Anthony Morris, T
I loved the pick, but no longer on the team, most fun to watch game tape you'll ever see from an O-Line
>7 Dexter McDonald, CB
On the roster, but never sees the field we'll see if he can develop
>7 Andre Debose, WR
Could be an elite KR/PR, insanely fast, but blew out his achilles in preseason after hearing nothing but good things so we'll see next year

Reggie is one of the most underrated GMs. He has been consistently killing it in the draft
