I have tried dating INTPs a few times. I know I come off as too forward and extroverted but it's easy for me to understand their thought process and outlook.

Very strong ENTJ so everything to me is just cogs in a system and it's easy for me to ingratiate myself to others. To a very reserved and analytical girl this makes me appear Chaddy or try-hard when it's just my negotiating the world.

I can just tell it's a matter of gaining the trust of a girl like that. Make her understand that I can make her laugh so much because I get her, not because I'm a clown. I have a similarly complex inner dialogue and perpetual internal calculation. Of the three girls I seriously pursued, two never 'let me in' so to speak, so never saw me as anything but a goofy weirdo. The third we really fell hard for each other. I could make her laugh and could encourage her in a meaningful way, she was quick to point out mistakes and flaws in a non-accusatory way that made me a better person. And we were VERY competitive; Chess, Scrabble, arena shooters, RTSs, we always went all out against each other and revelled in victory and getting better.

Alas, long distance and personal issues, but point is that it was by a wide margin the most fulfilling relationship I've ever had, not to mention longest.

Any INTP girls out there know how an analytical, affable extrovert could ingratiate himself to you?

Also I get the impression they are very wary of ANY physical contact until you get close then can't get enough. Small sample size, but that's the impression. Two were virgins but not insecure about it, one had fairly regular sex but it was always quite regimented from what she told me (never actually got that far).

tldr: I'm ENTJ and want an INTP girl crazy bad but come off too wacky or creepy. Once we know each other it's a powerful and fulfilling relationship, thoughts on how to jump the first few hurdles INTP ladies (and fellas for the sake of perspective)?

I can understand that, I can. But I'm telling you, dating a girl who is very introverted and thoughtful is really fulfilling for me and her.

The inner mental mechanisms are basically identical, I have found. Having a boyfriend who is sometimes a gadfly, sometimes a stoic, is a quick and decisive person who is open to and appreciates criticism and corrections is a great situation.

Like I said, INTP and INFP girls tend to see me as overbearing and loony, but there's a constant internal calculus that the one girl who got to know me really well recognized as something she understood really well and we both took a lot of comfort in each other's company.

I swear it, just give an ENTJ fella a try. He'll be like linking your brain to a PA system with some energy added and will remind you why you only need a few close friends when you're alone.

My crush is very extroverted and sometimes seems a bit chad-like because of it, it puts a ton of stress on me internally (entirely why I don't see anything happening between us). I think you highlight the barriers pretty well. INTPs have subtle and elegant emotions that I find very comforting.

The two big things I want to try to get across are that I am never passive aggressive, I mean what I say and always forward with my feelings. Not projecting them, but mentioning them in a way so that you don't have to react or take reaponsibiltiy for everything.

Second is that I want her to know that I really do value her perspective. Just because she's not Ms. Charisma and a sexy vixen doesn't mean I don't adore her.

INTP people seem to naturally carry themselves like they were invisible, observers of the world and giving them a surprise hug from behind and kiss on the cheek to hear and feel that decompress, that relief of worry that they just can't connect with the world in any way. I respect and love that they aren't manic pixie girls, it's why I'm willing to try to get them to open the barrier's gates, so to speak.

i think it's really good that you take on a supportive role, INTPs benefit a lot from that. i don't think we worry about being disconnected though, so maybe keep the physical interaction to the minimum until the person grows comfortable with you.

I of course am always patient when it comes to physicality. I think that's something that goes beyond the general expectations of an MBTI, maybe a girl really doesn't like being physical, maybe there's trauma or she's super repressed. And of course maybe it's not a matter of 'overcoming barriers' but a girl who just really doesn't want a guy who is ever boitrous no matter how logical and good at math. Or, god forbid, just isn't attarcted to tall hairy men!

Of course I can handle that, but that's a nuance that isn't always easy to parse. Lemme know if you want a guy who loves to cuddle, listen, offer and accept feedback, be a partner in overanalysis, won't get frazzled when you don't get emotional over every little thing and will be totally loyal ans honest with you once we become a couple.

INTP musician here. I studied engineering for two years, ended up losing all motivation and interest in it due to how rigid and abstract it was.
I've always had more enthusiasm for music and it definitely showed through my grades, but it's not to say I was terrible at STEM subjects either. I feel as though P types are more comfortable thinking creatively than applying pre-fabricated solutions, so we're more suited to a creative field rather than anything else.
Right now I've got more motivation to learn music production through the Internet than I ever did learning a STEM field at a university.
My advice is to go ahead with the STEM thing while learning to make music on the side. If you find yourself losing interest in your STEM field, take up a serious musical profession. If you find you don't really have a knack for music, stick with the STEM thing.
You could always choose the best of both worlds by studying audio engineering.

Depending on the test questions, I always get INFJ (most common), ISTJ, or ESTJ (just on the advanced tests).
I'd describe myself as a quiet and secretive, sometimes very enthusiastic but subtle weirdo who goes unnoticed, and is bad at socializing and multitasking. I do get shit done well in college though and will probably go on to doing something involving systems.

I only have a few obvious emotions, while the rest are unclear and confusing, so I ignore them. I can be sad and not know why for a long time, just feeling a subtle pang in my chest and generalized irritation at everything. I'll ruminate over it in my head and get nowhere. But when nothing in particular is bothering me, I'm completely content, and almost nothing changes my mood. There's a sense that normal problems can't hurt me, that I'm "invincible."

I think INTPs are very wary of people who like them immediately. They need to understand exactly why you like them, and they need to feel like it's their mind and not their appearance that attracted you. ENTJs tend to rush relationships, but this will scare the INTP off.

I would say initiate deep conversation, and truly listen to her. Being outgoing and wacky is fine, as long as you show attention to her needs. She'll appreciate the attention and the ENTJ's natural honesty.

Intredastingly, it was consistently INFP until about a year ago. I think I did a bit of growing up and started focusing more on myself than others. I'm not saying INFPs are immature, just that as I matured a bit I stopped focusing on others.

As for the rest of the people I actively struggle to find some connection with them - smalltalk helps somewhat. I know I have an internal timer set on everybody, after a certain amount of time spend in a social circle I feel more relaxed around those people, which makes socializing gets more easy. Aint gonna lie for me all this feels more instrumental.
