My mother gifted me some makeup, although I dislike most of what she gave me so I only use it on lips/eyebrows. And because even if I'm clumsy at it, I do like watching makeup videos. I use it at rare times out of curiosity for myself and then wipe it off after some minutes.

I'll say that people in that lifestyle all have different experiences so the outcome is interchangable.

For myself, they aren't really concerned and told me I could do whatever I like as long as I'm comfortable.
I worry more on them dying than how or where I'd live, but at the same time, that's just the way life is.
I am not only a hikki but also a NEET. I would like to study eventually when I'm better at social situations and going to class. Hopefully I can work something out that way

It depends on how you look at it from your perspective, usually. There were times I'd try to speak more with others in public and when I feel I'm being more talkative than usual, others would disagree. My social anxiety can progress and regress significantly. I think regardless of any other factor, you're blessed to have the life you have I would just work to maintain it by being sure that I can function enough in the real world to do so.

My parents didn't like that I was doing it so I learned to move out on my own and pay rent without leaving etc etc etc. Eventually I just wasn't happy with it. I'm regressing now, in terms of physical fitness, but I'm a day or two from getting back at it.

The reality is that if you don't work to sustain your comfort level where it is, it can't continue ongoing without depending on others, which was my motivation to get going, if that makes sense.

I have a good relationship with my Dad, but my step mother, step siblings and family don't talk to me. Mainly because I was pigeon holed to be a basement dweller my whole life, but ended up having a greater sense of success as they define it.

The work I do allows me to stay at home all day, work roughly 15-20 hours in a week, and have a decent savings. I worked hard (relative to me) to get that, and now I can have the life I enjoy without really doing much. They resent me heavily for that.

I agree entirely but I find it contradictory in one place: "on your own". In my opinion, your view point is too rooted in what others perceive of you which is natural when others afford you the ability to live how you want. At some point though, it's only fair achieve happiness how you define it, via methods you have more control over. Doing so affords you a greater ability to maintain your hikki lifestyle, and the earlier you do it, the more minimal the inconvenience of the process will be.

Yea, I dropped out early on so I spent my late teens/early 20s doing anything I could to be alone, they nagged relentlessly for eating their food and playing games too much. I had to get out.

I tried a roommate once, but it just sucked the life out of me. He's still my closest friend but it took him a long time to understand that my natural state was alone and I felt great that way.

In the end, I just turned to some skill I found fun but valuable, and started working through the internet getting jobs and then doing them. Odd stuff really, but eventually I was able to get a small place on my own, and now I have about 4 years saved up of life needs as I'm not really doing anything with the money. I could save on all my delivery.
