My grandmother had ms, it sucks and it's terrible watching the decline as they lose there ability to do normal things. Keep him in good spirts, and stay in good spirts your self, he will need your help.

That's what worries me so much. To me and my brothers he's unbreakable. He didn't even tell anyone because he didn't want us to feel bad for him.

Thank you for posting.

My mum's just found out she has MS after finding out last year she needs 2 hip and 2 knee replacements and spinal surgery. She's fucking 44.
I did a bit of reading on it and it's not as awful as it first comes across. People live long and full lives with it. It's nowhere near as bad as it was 10-15 years ago.

Why is this here though?

He was saying he starts treatments and he could live a long life with it and everything.
I just don't know how severe it can get for him and nothing in the world will prevent me from worrying. Just catching up with him the other day and hearing about how he felt got to me because you never really know how down someone gets.
I hope your mom is doing good anon. I really do.
Hey man, I just wanted to say my room mate and one of my best friends found out they had it this year. It's not the end. There are sooo many treatments and medicines out there for your dad now. There's even a National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation which even provides stuff like financial assistance for people with MS who need special coats to regulate their temperature and stuff. I'm open to asking questions because I learned a lot from my room mate/friend this year.
It's not the end! If your dad takes care of himself, he'll be fine, I promise.

I'm sorry for you and your dad

ya, if he is willing to fight it then he will live much longer, do anything you can to make him happy, it will payoff in the long run, and if he gets to the point of needing a wheelchair, dont let it discourage him.
