Virtually every person on the board is a dude and the vast majority of them are faggots. It's a sausage fest - and what's more it's mostly a giant homoerotic sausage fest.

Another problem is that this board is "cams and meetup" and not just "meetup." There's so much cancerous attention whoring for the sole purpose of attention whoring that the whole meetup thing gets lost by the wayside a bit.

Ideally, knowing the type of people this board attracts, no.

Girls would get thirstbombed, and it's also not really healthy to "judge a book by its cover" regardless: Soc has had some conventionally attractive people who ended up being obnoxious basketcases.

Better to get contact from the two chart threads, or just ask for it from people you happen to strike a good conversation with in other threads.

I would assume that /soc/ has always been this way and people have just gradually been seeing what they can get away with on this board, thus acting more and more taboo simply for the sake of being taboo. Without anybody stopping them, the traps, cucks, and diaper lovers just became part if the daily grind for this board. Once this board developed a reputation for catering to those interests, it inevitably gained popular among those groups.
That's my theory, anyway.

Could be solved by coding a different type of thread. Stickies for the most popular threads that hold 500 replies, and the old ones roll off the top. Then auto delete boards created which should be in the stickies.

The whole idea that on rate/assumptions/guess threads you need to do it to every single poster. Do you retards seriously expect someone who joins a thread with 150 posts to go through every single picture and rate out of 10 just so that in return they can get a number assigned to them too?
I don't even know why people make threads like these, as soon as they get past 100 posts they're pretty much abandoned and a new one with the same theme is created. The result is dozens of threads with the same topic alive at any given time and none of them are enjoyable.

I think if people started focusing more on sharing contact info and actually talking about their interests this board would improve a lot.

/soc/ has NEVER been great. From day one it was a containment board to get "rate me" and "hook-up" threads and other cancer off of /b/ and /r9k/. I remember first suggesting to moot to call it /ca/ for cancer at the time.
