Eh, I feel like it used to be faster and more active in general. A few people from chat threads I've kept in contact with have stated they don't come around anymore because the board just doesn't have any social appeal anymore. Even non-catfish camwhores have been chased off by aggressive thirst and harassment, but that's an issue of human nature, not necessarily anything the board has done.

I remember when there was about half a dozen different fairly active chat threads, but now it seems like a lot of that's been taken to Discords, and the people who actually want to socialize aren't around much.

There's really no audience because that audience has essentially been discouraged from coming here. I think the board itself can't really be improved, but a new board that brings back classic social /soc/ might be a good alternative.

This board isn't even technically anonymous because IDs, as the name implies, establish identity, even if its limited to one thread.

Social boards are better in general when there's an option to be completely anonymous (no IDs, even) or not be anonymous. People who want to remain anonymous can do so, but there's a portion of us who actually like getting to know people and being able to spot them outside of one thread.

Pretty sure he's mad, not because everyone isn't gay, but because ANYONE is straight. He thinks that men being sexually attracted to exclusively the opposite sex is self-hating and that women are manipulative, evil, and soulless.
Pretty sure he just hates women, though. Kind of like the right's response to political lesbians. Or something like that.

Man, it's really telling how self-centered this board is with how many people start "general" type threads but make themselves the primary focus in the OP instead of just posting template/panel and some greentext questions, discussion points, or guidelines like on most other boards.

I don't think janitors can really do much at this point, it's on the community. The problem is that as much as we dislike the bad content we don't report threads enough and it probably comes off as "board culture" or something on top of encouraging the people that make shitty threads. If enough of us were more active with reporting, I bet mods/jannies would take a more active role because at least then they would know the community wants it.

Now this one's up, and I can't be the only one reporting those considering how much that Kik gets spammed here.

If people from this thread who are frustrated with the spam and dupes were to apply, they at least have an understanding that it isn't really board culture and is a direct violation of rules that were implemented for a reason. I feel like /soc/'s board-specific janitors have just bailed, which isn't uncommon for volunteers when the effort doesn't match the reward.

I considered applying, but honestly I don't think I'm NEET enough to keep up with the board for more than 2 months lol.
