What about a neutral appearance? I remember seeing a transperson a decade ago that confused me so well, and it was so hot when the other trans posters were upset that they couldn't tell what they were (I guess it was a MtF-only thread) and their response was "I'm whatever you want me to be". Never could find more of them, they got such a horrible reception.

Tell us your seediest con story. Mine was when I met John St John at Connecticon and smoked a joint with him afterwards. Dude's a totally normal guy. We went bar hopping afterwards and I got into an altercation with some frat boy who'd been cursing out some cosplayers on the street. I asked St John what he thought of the guy and how he'd have dealt with it if not for his career n stuff, and in the voice of duke, he said "That swelled up shit would't have any teeth left to chew". Seeing an opportunity, I ran and dive kicked the frat boy. St John laughed. I got thrown out. Didn't see him again :(

I was dressed as James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2, he's one of my favorite characters from the entire series. A guy comes up to me and starts talking to me about Silent Hill. He didn't appear to be a massive fan, just knew stuff from the movies (which are nothing like the games). He then compliments me on my Heather Mason cosplay.

Now, James is a man in a deep green military jacket with jeans, Heather is a 17 year old teenage female in a white puffy vest and a green mini skirt. He said I suited her perfectly. I hadn't even thought about cosplaying her at the time. His buddy comes up, says hello, says 'nice James Sunderland cosplay', then drags his friend off. I see the look of fear on his friends face as he realizes what he had done. I felt bad for him.

I personally don't feel as if I come off as androgynous, but the amount of times I get called "ma'am" "miss" on a nearly daily basis is making me question that.
