Always wanted a sortof old-school map, so went for the 2 hemispheres. Took about 7 hours in 2 sessions.

Going for a phoenix on my right shoulder in januari, projected to take about 12-15 hours. Can't wait for 2017!

It was alright actually. Although every line is very detailed, so some parts hurt like a bitch (especially on my shoulderblades).

Looking forward to seeing how my shoulder feels. Supposedly it's one of the least painful places to get tattooed.

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo in the near-ish future. I like geometric designs and smaller things.

My question is, do you guys think a tattoo has to have any special meaning to you? Just wondering, as I think it can just be something you find cool.

I never had or liked tattoos. Ten years ago my father died in Thailand, I was with hum. We are from Europe, my father lived about 50% of the time in Thailand.

I love Thailand and I love my father. To have something of Thailand an my father with me I decided to ha a Thai tattoo set. It's called a Sak Yant and many believe it magical. I don't believe, I'm a rationalist.

After getting my first Sak Yant I was so euphoric. I will not elaborate to much on it, I now have the believe Sak Yant tattoos have something magical. A few days after getting my first one i went back to the Ajarn to get my second one. The "spells" they reflect really words for me.

This summer I go to Thailand again and hope to get my thirth Sak Yant.

People should get tattoos for themselves, not because what somebody else may think of it.

That said, thinking something is cool right now, will almost certainly change later in your life. Look at all the people with tribals. 95% of them are regretting them right now. They used to be all the rage, now they are looked at as tacky. These are the kinds of tattoos that people will usually end up regretting.

The upside for something personal, is that it will never change it's meaning. It will always be relevant.

Got this done yesterday, it's my first one. Kind of hard to take a good photo of it without help, but I'm really pleased with it. I have a second in mind for a California quail with a lavender flower frame and Sierra Nevada background/cuff on my forearm, but I'm going to wait on that because reasons.

Well I got my SCUBA certification a few years ago, which I would like to advance before I graduate, and hopefully work for research programs collecting data in the field; i.e. getting paid to scuba and look at fish. But of course that won't be in demand all the time, a lot of the more realistic work involves commercial fish farms and fish husbandry, that is basically breeding fish to produce the most genetically healthy offspring to repopulate wild populations. Lots of options, some more exciting than others.

Tattoos look pretty shit if you ask me, but what I really can't understand is why anyone would want a bird, a flower a wolf or anything else tattooed onto them? I used to really like tattoos but I could never find anything that I liked enough to get done.
Although the artwork on some of these tattoos in this thread are really good why not just get it printed on a T--shirt so when you get bored of wearing it you can take it off?
