I've been lurking for years. But none of that explains why even using a bot to right swipe everyone and having people take new pics with me I still got almost no matches compared to even people in worse shape than me that I knew. My matches between 4 states(and another country as well) and over the course of over 2 years were less than 20 that weren't definitely bots.

Going off literally every other person I know who uses Tinder that seems incredibly low. Most of the other Tinder users I know/knew advised me to lower my standards and refused to believe this could happen right swiping everyone.

Although the people I'm referring to aren't really my friends. I've never had any.

But yeah the details of how Tinder or even dating in general work are lost on me completely. Some people will say you need to be well off, super fit/jacked, or naturally handsome as a guy. But while all those things help a lot if I got off the large amount of people I know then none of those things are a necessity or even close.

It seems to have this degree of difficulty with Tinder something must be wrong with you physically. But one of the guys who put me onto Tinder is a stats major and linked me to a bunch of articles about how lack of Tinder matches doesn't correlate with real world attractiveness. I can see how images of personality or appearance can be distorted between real life and an online profile. But I feel like that really says when we have that much trouble. It's not normal to say the least.

Dating and hooking up seem like more trouble thant hey are worth anyway and the process of making it happen isn't even remotely fun.

As a guy who has plenty of luck on nights out, trust me, tinder is actually bad for you unless you're in the tippy top tier.

Mainly because girls, as usual, get a pick of cream of the crop. Even the ugly ones will usually match with handsome guys looking for a quick shag.
That and a ton of girls/guys don't even use tinder actively.

Oh and the few matches I get falter because my patter is absolute shit when I'm not in person. I just hate talking to people or getting to know them without seeing them because I rely heavily on expressions to get a feel of how I'm landing.

Right swiping EVERYONE consistently for 2 years and barely breaking single digit non-bot matches is weird for either gender. Not everyone I know is super fit or rich that has met people on Tinder. In fact the majority of the people I know who use it aren't but the ones that are obviously are the most successful.

I think saying it's only useful for women and the top 1 percent of men is a HUGE exaggeration. Plenty of average people get matches/dates/hookups with it. I see this happening literally all the time.

it's a lot more complicated than just "girls get their pick of the crop." while that's a pretty decent rule, that also applies to pretty much any social situation ever.
What really happens is that
1. average female users have a much stricter range of matches (very unlikely that a girl will set her match settings to anything above 10km (~7mi) from her location; more specific age limits, etc)
2. are less likely to "use" their total number of swipes per day
3. are much more prone to swiping left for in their eyes "unreasonable" (out of her league etc) matches

whilst i agree, tinder destroys your ego if you're a male (if you have one at all), it's not as bad a loss when you realise what is actually happening. Most of the time when you swipe right to a girl you know isn't that attractive and you feel bad because you didn't match with her, what is really happening is she never saw your profile in the first place because of my first point.

I've met several girls on tinder who I haven't done anything more than had a friendly chat with, never really tried to go any further with them and it's mostly because I recognised when I met them that there was something that was unattractive about me that they picked up the moment we met. Can't go wrong with clubmasters/wayfarers from Rayban. There might be cheaper options out there, but you dont want to skimp and get shitty polarized lens that don't protect you. So if nothing at else, make sure you are getting lens that protect your eyes and not just shade them. But the ones in your first picture do look too much like someones dad in the worst way.

I wish there was a way I could make a fake profile. Not with some like super-Chad, but just with a normal looking, early to mid 20s guy like I am.
