Hey /chastity/ looking for advice on what to do about my device.

Currently locked in a HTv2 and it looks like pic related.

If a chastity device is properly sized, you just aren't going to get a boner. You may swell up a little, but if there's no room to grow, it simply won't grow, and overall it's hardly noticeable.

If it's not sized properly though, then usually it will hurt a bit. Too small and it may cut off circulation, which is very dangerous. Too large and it can cause a bunch of pulling/tugging that is also pretty unpleasant.

Though to be honest, "breathing room" is not really a good thing either. If there's room to grow, you'll grow, and that can result in some painful tugging/pulling.

That's not as much of a problem on HT-style devices, but it does happen. I initally had a HT2 regular, and it did hurt a bit when I got too excited. Smaller is usually better when it comes to cages. I've had no regrets at all switching to the short cage, it's much easier and more comfortable to wear. I don't have nearly as many problems with growing/turtling anymore.

The HT hangs pretty low and I sometimes even slip out after straining a while. Someone told me to try the Birdcaged because it has a much wider ring... it's apparently intended for people whose bits hang a little lower. Does that sound right?

Depends. Are you talking about the "Bird Cage" or "Birdlocked" device? Bird Cage is a metal device that also will have the same issue, plus it has a way too long and wide tube, which is something you want to avoid in a chastity device for many reasons. Another con is that it's not stainless steel; the chrome wears off eventually and then you might have to contend with rusting.

On the other hand, the Birdlocked device is silicone, does indeed have a really wide ring, and I found it fit fantastically as someone else who also hangs a bit low. The issue I had was that the flexible silicone allowed some amount of movement and I'd get really bad chafing after just a couple days.

Yeah, we fit similarly. The birdlocked I had was also my first device. I'm fairly sure the main issue I had with it was that the ring was too big. I need a 40 diameter, and I got the 45. My HT is 40 and fits great. I do wish that it didn't hang as low as it does though.

Maybe I'll look into getting a birdlocked device again in a few months if the low hanging part starts really bothering me. Their current design looks pretty great.

Three-digit boxes are not really all that secure. If you can try one combination a second, it'll only take a maxiumum of 16-17 minutes to unlock it.
