Also - most of your points are anecdotal. Or, really not that serious.

1. This covers only federal cases - not state. The data might hold up, but it's not clear. Other factors involved: minority men are disproportionately punished at higher rates than anyone, which would move the needle.

2.There's nothing wrong with getting a ring form your wife. My wife set our wedding date before I got her a ring, and then she bought her own wedding band AND mine. The marriage industry is built around archaic ideas that women are property, or ways to strengthen family and economic ties. It's absolutely sexist against women. It's not an oppression against men.

3. Men are allowed to complain, but it is a shame that masculine culture shames abused men and male rape victims. That DOES need to change.

4. There are violence against men acts - they're called "laws". If you want a specific law based on domestic abuse against men that's a completely separate issue.

5. I think you need new friends - there are plenty of people who would be happy to accept you for who you are. As for being offended by the term "Man Up" - how do you think women feel about the masculine terminology used all the time? Is this an oppression against men or just something that bothers you? There's a big difference.

6. I don't see anything beyond anecdotal evidence suggesting all men who think gender equality should extend to the draft are "women haters"

I'm really confused by this. Are you saying I do or do not care about your problems?

Because I do care about gender equality issues, when they are real and quantified e.g. gender equality in the draft.

But the issues you brought up seem more anecdotal or personal than gender-wide. I'm sorry you feel bad about the way you are or act, no one should be made to feel that way.

The truth is most of what you're talking about is more a product of the long-held control of men in society, not the oppression of men. Unless you're talking about the oppression of lower-class men by the ruling class, which is a separate issue.

When my parents broke up, California courts had to pick between an emotionally stable man and a woman with diagnosed bipolar disorder which she refused to take meds for. Fast forward a few years and both my sister and I went mute from fear due to constant abuse. This could be a cultural difference but growing up men definitely had the power. As I've gotten older it doesn't seem any difference. I'm expected to lead and to command respect and I accept that position. People generally expect less of women and that can be a limiting factor in what they can achieve
