Is 25 young?
>>24322912
It depends on the context. It's a young adult.
>>24322914
> It depends on the context
Elaborate?
This age seems like a complete limbo between young and not young. It's a really tough stage.
>>24322928
Young for a doctor / young adult.
You are not a youth ( at least not in my opinion ) You've been an adult for a while, if you went to college you have probably finished it by now and might have the beginning of a a career. The average life expectancy is 71 male 73 female so the halfway point is around 36, which is 11 years away.
>>24322944
> You are not a youth
Shit :/
Deep down I know this is true, but it is a seriously unwelcome dose of reality.
I still have the same desires as three years ago and want to live how I did back then, but the world has utterly flipped the script.
I am quickly realizing virtually everything I enjoy, I am getting too old for. There doesn't seem to be anything to replace it with, either.
>>24322985
What do you enjoy
>>24322985
Don't feel too bad what are you into? Ain't nothing wrong with childish hobbies or past times as long as you are productive and take care of yourself.
>>24322991
Honestly?
I enjoy putting on sunglasses, taking my dugout and being in public high for the day with nobody knowing.
I enjoy breaking into and exploring building sites and abandoned buildings.
I enjoy sneaking into staff only areas and getting away with it.
I enjoy spending days getting lost in design projects - level design for video games, designing my own languages, analyzing my dream diary.
I still enjoy clubbing, casual sex, being drunk or stoned. I enjoy ridiculousness and adventure.
I like going out into gay bars (I am bisexual, for reference) and being the young desired guy who gets hit on. I like being the inexperienced one people want to teach or guide.
I like being able to leave for the nearby woods and spending a few days camping out there with as little equipment as possible for the challenge.
I like being able to drop off the face of the Earth and not being 'in the system'.
Immature? Yeah, I wasn't considered to be three years ago.

> childish hobbies
It isn't even just hobbies, it's the level of freedom young people have. I don't know how to make peace with losing that forever.
See:
> I like being the inexperienced one people want to teach or guide.
> I like being able to drop off the face of the Earth and not being 'in the system'.

Sorry Anon. I don't know what to say if you look youthful though people will judge you by that when you act youthful as well. I was born a 40 year old accountant so I don't know those feels.
>>24323043
Unfortunately, I look my age. I also dress it (had a two year stint as an escort in London as a student, got treated to a pretty expensive wardrobe and taught how to dress...the good years).
If I am going to lose all that stuff, what the hell is meant to replace it?
I am at the stage where I take pretty huge risks with my health and finances just to get some sort of thrill. Sort of a "fuck you" to what life wants me to be now. I have become reclusive again because other adults seem like depressing zombies.
>>24323043
How old are you?
>>24323057
Why can't you do what you are used to doing? Some 25 year Olds look really young. I look like a kid still.
>>24323071
...you came across as 30 or something.
>>24323067
Because the expectations on your behaviour at my age are markedly different. Sneak into a building site at 23, lol dumb kids what can you do. Do it at my age, the police get called.
>>24323086
I'm old and boring at heart. In the US you're just as likely to get the cops called on you if you are a big kid (15plus) as you are a young adult.
>>24323071
Also, if this is true:
> I was born a 40 year old accountant so I don't know those feels
Then seriously, seize the fucking day. You're 23. It starts to accelerate like hell around your age.
Tonight, I am going to sleep naked in the back garden just because I can and am home alone. No heating, no cover.
After that, I also plan to stay up for as many days in a row as possible just to see what will happen. I hear you hallucinate, eventually.
Why?
Because that is how damn trapped I feel. Doing that feels like going on a holiday with your mates might at your age.
Furthermore, I am probably supposed to be impressed at your maturity because that is how adults are supposed to respond to maturity in those younger. Instead, I refuse that, and will say that you are probably better adapted for what is ahead than I was.
>>24323012
25 is young
Also this sounds awesome we should chill
>>24323103
How old are you, then?
My other way of acting up is anonymous public pranks. People don't ever expect somebody my age to do it.
>>24323101
No it's not really maturity if you're born disinterested.
>>24323136
I used to do public pranks and kinda performance art things when I was younger.
