It isn't too terrible, I still have enough fat on me that it just kinda looks like a normal slightly chubby girl and not straight up floppy skin. It isn't too noticeable.

I feel that, I lost the first 50 like super fast and got burned out before I got my motivation back. It's OK to pace yourself with weight loss tho, it's a marathon not a sprint.

If motivation is a problem, just reduce your intake some. Going to the gym can be hard, but cutting a few snacks isn't. Or read fitness and weight loss stuff online to try to get into the mindset.

Yea, I've been cutting back again lately, and plan on starting to workout. But I cant deal with the gyms, so I may stick with body weight stuff.

skin has some natural elasticity in the short term. if you stretch out a transormation like his over the course of years, it can keep up a lot better. if he'd done that transformation in 6 months instead of 6 years, he'd have freaky skin - but spacing it out helps stop that.

tl;dr spaced-out weight loss helps, as well as spurts of weight loss

Bettas are synthetic. Sometimes, they seem dead but they are not. Grow algae and read on how to keep a tank. I'm thinking of getting an 100 gallon tank soon. I've had exotic fish before and I found that it was easier to take care of the hardest species than guppies.

Get guppies at a start and learn to take care. Having a tank full of fish is really neat.

18 months.

I'm 45 years old. Was 300+lbs. Gulf War related PTSD. Couldn't run 200 feet if you paid me. Shitty eating habits that gave me constant stomach problems. No energy. Depressed. Tired all the time. Hated the person in the mirror.

Finally got off my ass and did something about it. Got help. Trained my ass off, ate better. I've now run 2 Warrior Dashes, 3 5k races (averaging around 30 min each), and just signed up for my first 10k.

Never give up. It's never too late.

But I will say this to you younger folks. Do it now. It sucks SO much worse in your 40s.

Losing weight when younger also helps your skin. Not a lot of people appreciate that your skin is an organ, just like anything else inside of you.

My freshman year of college, I went from 220 to 180, and never noticed even a bit of loose skin. Now I'm in my late 20s, going from 240 to 170

and I've noticed a fair amount of loose skin. Not so much when I'm standing up, but if I bend over or anything, you can definitely see it droop. I've read skin can take up to two years to reset for your new body. I can only assume it's proportional to age (though whether directly or exponentially I wouldn't know). But definitely better for your new body to do it while younger.

One piece of advice while I'm writing, though, is to temper things. A lot of people will try to overdo it right away - try to lose 50 pounds in a day - and hurt themselves doing it. When I first started working on weight loss, I'd run too much, and do "overtime" like we used to do in wrestling, and do sprints at the end to finish things off - that overexertion would mess up my knee/leg, and I'd have to skip workouts.

when i was fat, i didn't think I looked that bad. all this "fat acceptance" crap just enables people to not only be unhealthy, but be in denial about how bad they look

instead of telling people they're beautiful at any other size or any of the other bumper-sticker slogans, be honest with them. if you're fat and are attracted to other fats, that's fine. but don't try and tell skinny people to be attracted to fatties, because most of them aren't. tell fat people that if they want to be liked more, to lose weight.
