Honestly sharpening up your eyebrows with some tweezers might help. You've got a strong jaw, but I think some stubble could accentuate it.

Using the face flash thing is part of the problem. Intense lighting from one direction looks bad 90% of the time. Back lighting, soft lighting from the opposite side of a hard light, or just good sunlight (towards the end of the afternoon or very early morning) typically make things look better.

If you actually care that much, I could link you to something. A bit of basic knowledge can make your photos explosively better.
