If I mad a qt chart classic thread, would anybody post to it?

It's no secret that these new detailed charts killed these threads. The old template and handmade ones were the best. These get too specific and it's sad to me, because I made some really good friends from these threads, and I don't want to see them die because people think these are custom order gf threads.

I still like dostoevsky just not nearly as much as tolstoy. i sympatise strongly with Nabokovs reviews on both of them - http://www.nytimes.com/1981/08/23/magazine/nabokov-on-dostoyevsky.html?pagewanted=all .

I dont know, maybe Dostoevskys didactics dont resonate with me, my naivity and its life experiences haha. another funny thing i noticed is with the girls im friends with here who read a lot, very few like dostoevsky, while guys love him

I've always felt like Nabokov is a self hating Russian or at least so much Russian that he's self hating. But I'm not Russian so I can't say too much lol
I enjoy Dostoevsky's characters and humour though, even if it's just because I relate lol

as for nabokov maybe he is considering the context he grew up in and worked in but i think its more of an aversion to be associated with russians because of his minority station not a disliking of russians themselves if you know what i mean. if so i dont think its reflected in his critiques because he commends tolstoy as a genius and also petrov and ilf. there are definitely personalised and emotional inputs in his critique because of his critique of general revolutionary or 'progressive' ideas as naive and his hatred of marx which is definitaly understandble given his personal life, but that shouldnt impair his judgment on Dostoevsky because like Dostoevsky, Nabokov faced 'persecution' and had to change lifestyle because of discrimination for his ideas under a corrupt bureaucracy and Dostoevsky also becomes (and is remembered for) critical of unorthodoxy

I suggest everyone here stop wasting their time
you have one life and you're going to live maybe another 40-50 years at best. the chances of meeting someone here(especially female) are extremely low, and the chances of them being a person worth your time are even lower. take it from someone lonely who has been trying and talked to at least 20 different women over the years I've tried on /soc/

even a dating site like okcupid is better than this place. at least there you have options and not just the one girl who randomly adds you and then forgets or finds someone more interesting 5 minutes later
