How do you get somebody to engage in a conversation with you? Watching the hoops men have to jump through on Tinder to get girls is almost cringeworthy

First, you have to be pretty handsome to even get looked at a second time by a girl. A girl on there who is a 5/10 can get attention, while a guy basically has to be at least a 7/10, good face, good body, etc.

Second, you have to have a series of pictures showing your "social worth" to a girl, and there are unofficial strict guidelines and an unofficial template you as a guy have to follow when putting up pictures, from what the pictures are of, to who you're with, to even the order you put them in. Girls can just post a ton of selfies and get plenty of attention, while seflies are basically poison for a guy.

Third, you have to come up with a witty, creative bio that describes you and is funny and is creative and eye catching. Girls frequently post either copypastad "funny" bios they have seen before, or very short, undescriptive bios about themselves.

Fourth, the guy has to message first, but while forming a creative or witty opening line that includes the girl's photos and bio somehow. On the rare occurrence a girl messages first, it's typically a "hi how are you" or other thoughtless opener.

In the conversation with the girl, the guy has to be on his toes being witty, funny and creative with her, basically like a circus monkey performing for her enjoyment to desperately try to get her phone number out of her, while the girl can just sit there saying "lol" or emjois showing her amusement at him

And of course, it's up to the guy to provide all the entertainment during the date as well.

It's really a sight to behold the pedestal girls are put on and the power they are given on this app. They basically just turn men into jesters for their enjoyment.

Depends on the flow of the conversation. I don't really keep track of how many messages exactly, but usually once we've introduced ourselves and established some mutual interest I'll say something like, "So hey, at this point I'm pretty sure you're not a spambot, so do you wanna get coffee/drinks sometime?"
