Clubbing or house-parties? The general idea is to drink, socialize then hopefully fuck. I've been to parties where it's just a 15 person friend circle hanging out, playing vidya, drinking games and talking. Other parties have been 100+ people, dancing all night.

Often I find myself hanging out outside of the action, talking to the people smoking/taking a break as they're steadily swapped out. If you're new to the whole thing you'll probably party with friends and then you can just follow their lead all night.

dressing depends on where and the type of club. you just go there and try to have fun. the only things to keep in mind are to be careful, take care of the people around you and play nice. 2bh partying is one of the more animalistic things humans do. when people are partying they drink a lot, and tend to become more social - so embrace that.

How does one find parties in a brand-new city where you have no friends yet and all your coworkers are married/have kids/etc.? Is it weird for 30-somethings to go out and party? Seriously asking since I've never been to anything other than LAN parties, and people don't do those any more. I have been to company "parties", but those are boring as hell, at least in the industries I've been in.
