Oh wow, will you look at that. Another drinking thread where no one will post in. Fuck.

Well, since I started this thing and still here, I'm now drinking Against the Grain's Bo & Luke, which is a smoked Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon barrels.

Well, when someone says a beer is infected, it doesn't mean it tastes like shit.

There have been numerous reports that the latest BCBCS is infected, in that it is sour and tastes horribly. I figure that I'd open up the last remaining bottle I had to see if it was infected (the previous three bottles I owned/opened weren't) and was fortunate that it wasn't. Tasted like a balanced barrel aged stout with a decent amount of coffee to it. IMO, though, it wasn't nearly as good as last year's BCBCS. But, that's neither here nor there.

Some of the batches of BCBCS that have been noted as infected could've been because of the coffee beans not been cleaned all the way. However, there's quite a few reasons as to how the infected bottles could've ended up tasting terrible.

Wow. I'm legitimately surprised that someone would remember that.

In the end, my brother-in-law (married to my sister) ordered some bottles for her from NY of the cider she/they enjoyed while in England. I might order some myself via onlline later this year before her birthday (in June) as a present. If you were the one who had helped and gave some helpful links, I gratefully appreciate it!

Currently, I work at a liquor store. Hopefully, I get a call/email from a local brewery I applied at and get the job I wanted there. But, that might be a little while as they told me they're accepting applications through the beginning of January due to the holiday madness in late December.

Perhaps it's all timing? I suppose it depends on the shop you work at and the location it is in the city. For me, I try to do my best to upkeep the beer selection and have everything neat & organized. Besides that, I hold tastings every Friday of beers we have at store, as well as 1 or 2 I bring in we don't have just as treats to those that come for the tasting. Sometimes it works, most of the time it seems it doesn't. As long as one person comes for it, I feel perfectly content, ya know?
